Okay, we all know that Injen and AEM make CAI's for the lancer. My question is, which intake would you prefer?

WASUP!

I'd have to say I'd go with Injen because I like them better but AEM has some good systems especialy their new one called the V2 or somethin like that.
But if it were a question of a preference I would say Injen!

PEACE!!!!:smoker2: :grey: :sun: :bandit:

I was very happy with my Injen, but I did run into a problem with it.

My piping's forked mount broke. Here's a pic so you can see what the hell I'm talking about:

I didn't bother replacing it because I won't be needing it shortly. I've just been running a short ram with the cone right on the MAS adapter plate. At any rate, a small urethane bushing should alleviate the problem. Vibration seems to be the big factor. Another person on my forum had the mount's weld rip off part of the intake piping as well, leading to stray suction, but these cases seem fairly isolated. I've never heard of a problem with the AEM (which uses different mounts) but they also haven't been out as long.

Not tryin' to badmouth Injen here. I happened to really like teh intake, but I figure a response with problems would be beneficial.

To all who are looking into an intake for their lancer... My friend just got a 2003 lancer OZ. We researched the Injen and the AEM. What we found was that the AEM gave very good results. Go to www.aempower.com and they have dyno charts for the intake. I have a dodge neon with an injen intake and I did not get that much torque gain as you gain with the aem for the lancer. The horsepower gain is normal not good not bad, but the torque gain is very good and torque is what gets you moving... never forget that :smoka:

If you trust manufacturer's dyno results for their own products then you deserve what you get. I guarantee if you dyno'd your friend's car stock and then with the intake you would be disappointed.
