Soon im gonna order 3 elemental 10 inch subs and i wanna build a box thats gonna give me around 1 cubic foot to each sub and port it tuned to like 28hz i think. I wanna make a box that goes below the false floor of the trunk and that when the rear seats r down the top of the box lines up wth the seats to give it a clean look. But i want the part that the subs r in to be plexiglass. Any ideas on how to do this or any tips?

sounds like a lot of work .......... you may find you have to change the idea a little to ensure the box volume is right. When you go ported, the box and port size are a lot more critical than with a sealed.

Yeah I know, but the elemental subs r designed for .8 to 1.5 cubic feet each in a ported application. I just hope i can find someway to make my box unique.:D

This is the box. I know its a **** drawing but im not an art major. The broken lines are below the false floor of the trunk and the circles are the ports and the odd squares are areas i could put plexiglass in.

What do you think?

why dont you make the middle(panel where the center speaker is) out of plexi, and put the amp under there. more room for air space.

just a suggestion.:)

im not really worried about where im gonna put the amp. I just wanna see whether you all think this box would be buildable?

I am not 100% sure of what you want to do ... I think any box is buildable - the real question is, can you build it to the shape you want and still get the internal volume you need. Ported boxes can be picky about box and port sizes, especially the higher order ones (bandpass).

Im still a little new with using winISD......hopefully i get the hang of it. I hope when im done it turns out nice because i want it to be done right the first time cause I dont really have money to waste.:(

are you SURE you wnt a ported box ? A sealed box is lot easier to design, and a lot more forgiving of box size calculations

im pretty sure because i like the boomy deep bass and from what i understand thats what ported boxes will give you. That is why I wanna do a ported box:)
