Hopefully an RX8 and 360 Modena Stradale as well.

And isn't it about time for Tamiya to take the GT3 tooling and do the new GT2? I certainly think so!

i could easily see an RX-8. Stradele would be easy enough for Tamiya, but I doubt they'd produce it.

I hope we will see the release of the 2002 Ford Focus RS WRC as driven my Martin and Duval (the blue RS version).....other than that, I don't hope for much in the auto sectio....anything will be good

New Honda NSX
Nissan Skyline/ Infiniti G35 coupe and/or sedan
Mazda RX-8
JGTC anything (especially now that there's a tiny speck of U.S. TV coverage...)
Nissan 350 Z-GT

Most sensible thing is to assume the 2002 focus (2001 spec with decals).

Other then that , I have a strong feeling nothing "new" will eb produced; maybe some reissues of old kits with better decals (remember 320i)

... let's wait and see...

ciao Olivier

1/20 Williams FW24
1/24 Mazda RX-8
1/24 Nissan March (Micra)
1/24 Nissan 350Z Nismo S-Tune

A few chrome plated and clear version of the existing tools.

No pics yet, but on Tamiya's Japanese site, there is an article about a limited release kit of the blue Ford Focus coming out in Feb(in time for my birthday :) ). But so far the pic is of the real car.

I don't think they will release the FW24, since ST27 already had it. But if is a 1/20 scale...it might be the something that make Japan proud like the Toyota F1, what do you think???

MercedesAMG

-Mercedes SL55AMG

360GT already got trans-kit for it, so I don't think they will come out again, IMO, Ferrari in Tamiya only follow the lastest model, so actually would like any company to come out a F550, that's good enough:rolleyes:

S27's sales is insignificant, since they only produce 300 copies for a few months, while Tamiya makes 30,000 over a decade. They don't live in the same market.
The Jordan is the one to make Japanese modelers happy, but at least I know that's not gonna happen. We have to wait and see.

I try to get one but ST27 had sold out:( But I really hope Tamiya will release that Toyota F1...and did heard a rumours last year that next project will be that toyota, but will see about that...(the same date as ST27 Toyota F1 release) Any kit they release, I wont miss it...:hehe:

We need the Audi before the new Mercedes.
That's right. I should add the DTM Audi to my guess list.

Well yeah, I think in the end for the beneefit of Tamiya, the TT might prove to be a more commercial succes then the new CLK. Specially since the TT is also popular in the US, I think...

I agree, the tt should be nice to make, but as we know, they haven't made an audi model lately, haven't they?

As for the mercedes SL, there is -I think- a big possibility that this car will be released, as Tamiya allready purchased the license to make a 1/12 RC-car of the SL 500
http://www.hlj.com/images/tam/tam49261box.gif

As we have seen in the past, the Enzo was first announced as an RC-model and short after that the 1/24th was made...

Nurnberg anyone? Germany-->Mercedes???

We 'll see..

Along the same lines, Tamiya also made 1/10 RC bodies of the C5R Corvette and Audi TT-R. We haven't seen 1/24 models of them yet by Tamiya, and it would be great if we could get a Tamiya tooling of the TT.

I believe the will release 1/24 CLK DTM 2002. They show the real car of Pennzoil GTR, Subaru WRC in previous hobby show and they had came true. But maybe not show up in this toy fair?

Not sure how I like the poses of the drivers of the Pug, but then again, I suppose it's easy enough to not build them... It's the 2002 NZ rally car, so should make for a nice kit.

Pity we only get the bike, and the one car, then again, we DID get the Enzo last year as a bit of a 'bonus' (Well, most of us are still waiting for it...)

what are they doing...dreaming? They are getting more and more like Fujimi. 1 mold, million of different version, just by adding some different figures, decals don't really satisfy the modelers.
But anyway, will still buy some and fix.
Hopefully, they can come out more 1/24 scale kits.:(

Asmenoth
01-31-2003, 10:22 AM
Well, it does appear to have a different suspension set up, which is nice. So it's not a total "ripoff". Hopefully these aren't all of the kits being released this year. THere is the limited edition RS Ford Focus kit coming out in February. I will probably get it for the new suspension parts alone and get an aftermarket decal set later, mabye some Marlboro decals to model the new car. :D

It is a huge dissapointment, i imagine we will see some great things from them later in the year though.

Perhaps they should cheer all us car modelers up by reissuing a load of kits.:)
