If you have any track racing stories or stories of how you used your own common sense and didn't risk yourself and others just to prove to some irrelevant stranger that your Civic is faster than whatever they have, please share.

Not really in my car at all, I dont get revved on, and for some reason I get more warnings from cops than I do tickets ... and the cops have never mentioned anything about it being "modified" or anything like that.
I showed a 99 Camry up in my moms 91 accord the other day, that was kinda fun, and on the way back from school someone in an integra was revvin on me on the bridge, but I passed him in the fastrack lane while he had to stop and pay the toll :p
Anyways, havent gone to the track either, probably should some day.

I've got plenty of stories but none in my civic... I did show a Mitz Eclipse GS up in my 94 Acclaim much to both his and my surprise... and my minivan used to rip crustangs a new one almost every time (rarely was beaten in it)

Actually, its funny that you mentioned it, but I DID put my B16 in for the track. Why would I go to the track with a D15? A lot of people that are in to modding their cars right now are only into it because its becomming a huge (not to mention annoying) trend among younger people. Yes, they will race on the streets.. Hopefully they'll wreck their cars and/or get huge tickets and lose their liscences for it too, before they hurt themselves or even worse, someone else.
If someone pulls up to me and revs I first make sure not to look their way and give them ANY recognition whatsoever, then I drive away EVEN SLOWER just to prove how stupid they are. Why oh why would I risk getting a ticket because of some jackass kid in a stock Si with cut springs is revving on me. (or even worse, idiots who try and race in vans and 4cyl family sedans and shit)
Read this now, grow up and you'll understand it.

Amen. Keep it on the track. I drive quick on the street but some of these idiot street racers are really pushing it.....and what for? We have friggin Hondas!!! What's interesting is you can buy a go kart that will kick ass all over these street machines for far less money and have an absolute blast on the track for cheap.

That is all i got to say to people who are against street racing.
:flipa: :finger:
That's all i got to say to people who street race stupidly.
There is a fine line between stupid racing and street racing. Street racing is NOT racing on the street from stoplight to stoplight. Streetracing in it's holy wisdom is for the backroads, the raods that don't have any crossings, the roads that contain no people or signs of civilization besides the cement itself. Honda are not meant to be street driven race cars, i don't care what you have done, it will not beat my friends street driven mustang that runs a 10.4 with full interior or my friends supra that runs a 10.1 with full interior. When somebody revs at you at the light, grow some balls and some brains and leave at that that. If they really think they can take you go to a street track and run them. Racing in public is one the dumbiest things someone can do.
And a second thing, don't bring 50 cars to the races, just the cars that are going to race, the flagger, and two spotters at either end of the track to watch for cars and cops. Speed Safely.

I like it when people rev beside me, its funny..And yes I will launch as hard as possible and run up to the speed limit as fast as possible, but thats where I back off, or if traffic is ahead of me. I guess thats not really street racing, but I sure as hell cant afford any tickets or ultimatly worse a crash thats my fault....Be Safe Guys

street raced once. and it was extremely dumb on my part, took my car for a joy ride through town at 1 am the night my parents brought it home cuz i was working when they went for it, pulled upto the lights and my buddy who delivers pizza was just coming through town and stopped beside me, i rolled down the driver window and got his attention and he didnt belive it was me cuz i didnt have my G2 at the time and still dont, no insurance on the car, and no plates, i revved, he revved and we both took off on green, i beat his 8 valve Jetta, i was pretty far ahead of him then backed off and went home cuz i didnt feel like havin cops on my ass cuz i'd be screwed, last time i street race tho, sure i'll go watch some but not participate. but before i left home i had to push the car into the street and like 80 yards up the street before i started it cuz its fairly loud. when i came home I shut it off at the top of the street and coasted home lol but anyways, thats my story. next time i race is at the track on friday night import test & tunes
