Hey all,

Here the story. When in Canada on 20th December last year I got my final high school mark which is a ranking for entry to Uni. I got 71.65 which was pretty average and I was disappointed in. The cut off for the course I wanted to do was 79.85 so I was already making other plans. Today the offers came out at 9am on the web. Mum and Dad were driving to Canberra and bought a paper. At 8:30am I got a phone call from them waking me up telling me I got into my FIRST CHOICE! I have never been this elated in my life. Woohooooo.....

:D Thanks matey! I'm stoked. I was in Canada but the only parts I was in was Whistler and Pemberton BC. Would have loved to have a Canadian OT meet to see y'all. Sometime soon, eh? :)

The program I got into is a Bachelor of Technology (Information Systems). Basically means I get to be a high paid computer geek in a couple of years. ;)

B.Tech(Inf Sys) at www.maq.edu.au if you can be bothered finding it.

Congrats and best wishes there matey...

BTW I scuba dived and snorkeled yesterday in the sub-tropical waters off the Tutukaka Coast in 20 degree celsius water with 25 metres of visibility. Then I spent a good part of the evening sitting in the sun chasing a pod of 14 Orca (killer whales) going north up the coast. The perfect day and I thought of OZ cutting up the white stuff in 20 below....

I have plenty of 'normal' days here, Heep but I do endeavour to try and enjoy the best things in life on a regular basis.

Whether it was yesterday's adventure, sitting down to dinner with friends and enjoying great food, fine wine and entertaining conversation or taking time out to watch a sunrise or feel the warm grass of my lawn between my toes in summertime - all of these are sensations to be enjoyed and cherished.

Some take a bit of organising, some are impromptu. We decided to do this trip a couple of weeks ago, the weather wasn't good so we postponed to yesterday which was great AND we were lucky to see the Orca...

Too many people forget what makes them get out of bed in the morning or forget about things to look forward to. I love winter because I can ski, I love summer because I can dive, sail and enjoy the outdoors, I love the rebirth of spring and the harvest in autumn.

Live a little, work a little, play a little. We don't have much time here so you may as well make the most of it wouldn't you agree?

One of my friends once said these sage word... "A lot of folk pass up on opportunity because it often turns up wearing dirty overalls with the word WORK emblazoned across it."

Unfortunately by the time I posted this thread, I had been home 4 or 5 days. But I did dedicate a few runs to the memory of Replicant! The first was Dave Murray (black diamond racecourse) from top to bottom at race speeds - :d - and the second was a lazy, cruisey run on the Saddle off Peak chair which is a blue that is groomed and great for practicing fat powder carves.

I vow that we will ski together someday...
