stock speaker size

i was wondering what the size is that the front speakers are in the front of the 91 dx. Cause i want to replace them

6.5 front and rear (optional rear)

Just watch out for the depth of the speaker magnet, you may bottom out on the mounting bracket or the window and its run channel if you have removed the bracket....

Yea, make sure its not too deep........ and crutchfield lies sometimes..... i know because i bought some speakers for my dads car ('95 Benz E-420) and they were too deep but crutchfield said they work.... good thing crutchfield let me return it for no charge......

you can only have a 2" depth on the speakers in the front, id recommend using the 5-1/4" size since they are smaller you wont have any clearence issues.

I have Pioneer 6 1/2's in the front and dont have any problems with clearance.

I think mine got 5 1/4" in it up front. Nothing in the back.

I had no problem with the fronts I installed at Crutchfields recommendation. I can't remember what they are anymore however.

and thats on those plastic OEM bracket things?
i got a buddy that got 5 1/4's, and theyre a tiny bit too small, but he made them work, i think its 6's that are the stock size

in my crx rear i took 4x7 and just turned em sideways inside the pod for speakers

I HAVE BOSTON ACUSTICS 6.5" PRO MID-BASS DRIVER IN THE FRONT OF MY 91 Si. I REMOVED THE FACTORY PLASTIC "CUP" IN THE DOOR AND REPLACED IT WITH A 3/4" SPACER RING MADE OF ABS PLASTIC.
YOU COULD ALSO MAKE A SET OF SPACER RINGS FROM WOOD.
I WOULD RECOMEND HDF. BEFORE YOU PUT IT IN THE DOOR YOU WANT TO USE A WOOD SEALER OR CLEAR COAT, SO THE WOOD DOESN'T ABSORB WATER. YOU ALSO NEED TO WATCH CLEARANCE FOR THE GRILL GOING BACK ON, IF YOU ARE USING A COAXEL SPEAKER.

i know this is old but i was wondering if 6inch sony explodes will fit up front??? cause i can get a set for 35

Yeah they should fit...just check the depth of the magnet when you install it....
