Hatch and gas release cables

Hey my gas cover and my hatch release things are all seized up:( . Do i have to tear my carpet and stuff up to get at them or what. Cause its a real pain in the @ss to use a key to get into the hatch. Anyways, instructions or help would be appreciated. later

I believe the lines run behind the drivers side interior panels.

to get to the cables right by the switch is easy, Just take the trim off from your door jam and pull the carpet up a little. As for how following them back and puling up stuff I don't know.

so whut your saying is that i will have to replace them?
