ok my s14 is busted and gone. i got 3000 for a new car
found a junkyard car for 500...
should i get a CA18DET or wait for the SR20DET?
whats the diff. between the engines? (besides the the iron vs. aluminum block)
turbo sizing?
is the CA18DET even worth it?

CA18DET is alot more torquey then the SR, better low end, but it compromises in HP (175 vs 205). there have been CA's that can pump out the power, but SR's definitley have better support (especially in north america) and can handle more power. of course, the CA is cheaper, but there's the compromises for you.

depends on how much power you want, if you're going for 350 or less hp the CA18det would probably be a much more affordable route, but I believe SR20det with the support from the north american areas will be cheaper if you go beyond that, I seen CA18det's for as low as $850, but then do some research on it, also depending on the year it could be a direct bolt in process or not.
If you were in Australia ca18det has a good number of supporters there, you might look into australian silvia sites for some more info.
