Hi everyone,
I thought I would take a brake from car modeling and try something different.....
Tell me what you think!
P.s. I know that the exhaust needs repainting, I just can't be bothered taking it all apart at the moment!
Can anyone tell me how to turn the pictures, ...... I'm soooo usless with fricken computers!

It's a Tamiya Yamaha YZF R1 with a custom paint scheme. Very nice, too.

Actually the YZF-R1 with the Taira Racing colours. (Kit 14074 from Tamiya) http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/plastic/112motorcycleseries/14074.html (http://)
Nice kit, and nicely done with the use of the full-view fairing. The exhaust looks OK, but I've seen some nice articles with the heat-banding done very effectively. Your kit is pretty well done though.

Yep, that's the one...........
the rest of the bike is realy good, shame it looks so grany on the photos, it's just the exhaust that lets it down, I will get around to redoing it, it was my first attempt at exhaust shading, and I took it a little too far............ Then while I was handeling it the Alclad paint came off, I tried to touch it up.............. now it just looks like s**t.
I keep it facing away from me on the shelf!

As far as I can tell that is how the back fits.......... I will take another look at it tonight.
The front is a bitch and keeps moving when I pick it up! But I can't get rid of all the gap, only about 98% of it, the clear cowling fits a lot better.
BTW, I had a small problem with this kit, I decided to spray the black fade instead of using the decal supplied, I painted the body using dark aluminium from Alclad and then used Revell (you can see this coming from a mile away!!!!) to do the black fade......... it looked great so I over sprayed with Tamiya Clear, and it reacted!......... The lesson from this is......... DON'T MIX YOUR BRANDS OF PAINT WITHOUT TESTING FIRST!!!!!!! Oh well, you live and you learn!
The tach is the standard decal with a large drop of crystal clear over the top to look like the glass lens.
This is my first bike, and therefore I am pleased with it, my next one will be better!........ promise

Very sweet bike. I was going to build this one, but a friend of mine needed a birthday present for his girlfriend. I knew she likes motorcycles and told him about the kit and offered to build it for him to give to her. What does he tell me next? She also builds models....
Man, I thought I was lucky having a wife that likes my hobbies but doesn't do them herself, but my friend...I think he hit the jackpot.
