ok, i currently own a 96 eclipse gs. i have an offer for one of the nicest eclipse gs-t (95) ive ever seen, this guy is also a person i consider a good friend. My parents dont like power, and they know this guy is pushing a lot of it, i think if i tell my parents to put a governor on it for 70mph they might go for the idea of buying it. i can just take the governor off when we buy it, does anyone else have andy good info that would help me out, ya know, anything that says how a gst is better than a gs.
ok, im 18 and i have a good amount of driving and racing expierience. ive driven about 60k miles and ive been to two driving school and am a regular at the local tracks. i was saying...put a governor on for 70 just to give my father a sense of security, the day after we put it on, i can have it removed without him knowing. thats just an idea i had, so i actually wouldnt be limited to 70 but for 1 day at most. next: my car has 205hp dynoed (140 stock) i put a turbo on, so i know the feel of one. my friends car (the one im trying to get) has 340hp dynoed. this may seem like a huge difference, but im actually quite use to the power, my best friend owns a 'vette with near the same amount of hp that i drive frequently for him at the track near by. so, my credentials are substantial and i wont actually have the governor for long.....so, my question, again, is what are some ideas to convience my parents to let me buy this more powerfull car.
i left this out--his mods include a 20g which is the main thing, its intercooled and all air pipes have been boosted to 3 in. downpipe and all. he runs all this without nitrous, but it is possible to set it up if you wanted to, the internals can withstand a bit more power due to the mods he has done on the head and bottom end.
thanks,
wes
oh...i know about crankwalk and stuff like that, his car has 92k miles on it...so, does that mean it wont get cw (i heard cars usually get it around 40k miles) and if not what are solutions to prevent this before it happens....possibly a new, stonger crankshaft?!?
