Various Model Questions

Hey y'all,

Couple of questions about what was available in Australia.
First of all, did Australia ever get 5th Generation 2 door coupes like Canada/US ones?
Second what engines were available in Aussie delivered Del Sol CRXs? I thought they were all B16A2 second gen B16As? What are the model designations? VTi-R?


Anyway, hope our infrequent Aussie/NZ crew is good.

No we didn't get the 5G coupe although a few were privately imported (designated the Ferio).

Not all of the 2nd gen CRXs came with the B16A(wanky US designation 2). Some came with the D16A6 - 1.6 SOHC VTEC. They never had a designation for the model, all were just classified as a CRX as I recollect.

Thanks for the info. Until I bought the new Hot4s, I had never heard of a Del Sol with a d16, only B16. hmm...there ya go - must just be pot luck on the used market. And the coupes - I didn't think we got them, but they look to be an OK thing as they are Japanese built, yes?

1st gen..box shape..we didn't get here...except for the few examples floating around.

In terms of coupe...I have seen a few around...although they would be heavy..and wouldn't go that well. It's bad enough in a EK coupe a vti 96 - 97 with the SOHC vtec engine...piss weak!!

Yeah I noticed the NON B16a equipped 3rd gen CRX too oz, it kinda threw me for a bit!
