Yestrday I was pushing my civic so hard the max speed that I get was about 230km/h or a little more at least that the speedo meter show and I was pushing it for about 50km I was on trip that was 500km long and we were racing all the way but for desert was the last 50 kilometers when my civic went crazy, but little from the point a was hadding for, my engine blow up and the engine was on fire I just steeped out a litlle from gas pedal on the speedo meter was something around 180 km/h and some noice started wery loud and I stoped my car emidiatly and jump from the car and from under the hood there was starting to roll a cloud of black smog, so I quickly opend the hood and the fire just "jumped" out of the engine and the hood was on fire too so luckly there was plenty of snow on the side of the road so I threw a lot of snow on my engine and hood and then luckly some guys passed by me and stoped they had a fire extignisher and they put down the fire on hood (the silence cover was burning) and then the fire started on the bottom of the car the plastic that is under the engine went on fire so I hardly put that down with a snow too (I burned my hands, but not so bad :( ) And when I thought that all is over the fire started again on the fire wall the silence cover started to burn too and I jumped for more snow and some peace of not burned silence cover from hood and after a some tryes I put that down to...So it was very freeky and scary I almost lost my car :(

So the engine is broke, one of the rod cranked and made a hole 3x5 cm wide in my engine block  :(

So now I'll forced to swap that engine that I bought one month ago the b16a2 one, but a lot of money will be spend on this new project :(

I'll show you the photo when I'll take photos of the damadge!

See yaa

And drive safe;)

P.S.: Yestrday was not my lucky day :(

Just to let you guys know, english is his second language ;)

Anyways, that really sucks, when I went on my roadtrip to colorado, I was in the middle of nevada and was at the gas station, when some smoke starts rising from my hood, and im like oh shit, so I open it and there is all this smoke which smelled like oil burning, I am assuming last time the oil was changed some was spilled. Still doesent suck as much as your engine catching on fire, but scared me none the less cause I was in the middle of nowhere and like 400 miles from home.

My dad is worried about my system catching fire so he got me an extinguisher for my car, it chills behind the drivers seat, but I wanna get one of those rice pillar mounts for it cause then it wouldnt roll around and shit.

I know its not your language man. Personally I think its neat cause you type it just like you would say it so we can really pick up on the accent.

bought the car for $300 like that. had the a6 out of the si in it 3 days after it came home.

piston had been shot waaaaay up in there. i think the previous owner drove it until they couldn't take the knock anymore (doh!)

Yop that is my engine I mean my ex engine now I'll sell here for parts!

So here are the picvs how the car looks now and the whole in the engine block if you look close you can see the crank shaft :( :( :(

The hood is ruined but I'll get new and put in the toyota WRC hood scoop, but other parts of chasies are good they are just dirty...

http://images.cardomain.com/installs/264000-264999/264571_66_full.jpg

And the whole in the engine block

http://images.cardomain.com/installs/264000-264999/264571_67_full.jpg

So now the car is goin to my friends garage and we'll totaly redone the car it'll be probobly the whole year project:

-swap engine
-the whole car will be fresh paineted I'm thinking of two colors the lower part of the car will be in metal cherry red and the upper part will be white (liek tha accord from parotech)
-all body line will be fixed, no door hoks no side moldings and the wide body kit from feels will go on!
-and some interior will be done to I'll swap the 6th gen whole dash into

So we have a lot of work to do:p and a lot of money will be invested in thsi project, tomorrow I'll buy my self a new car for daily use some piece of crap but it'll be good for year and then when my beast come back on the road I'll be the happiest man in the world :D long way til there!

So I'll post some new info as soon we'll start with the project!

Ok all this happen cause u pushed top speed???

That sucks emil :(
So you were driving 230kph when it blew? @ how many RPM's?

Good luck with the new project man!

mellowboy
01-16-2003, 12:19 PM
Did you take out the rev limiter?

emil13si
01-16-2003, 05:38 PM
YOP I was pushing the max speed over the 230km/h but not for just a mile or two a was going on a long trip for some parts and I was kind in a hurry so I did push it to the max on the way there and on the way back so the whole trip was like 304 miles long so you can imagine that but I did stop at some places but on the way back I was like 30 miles goin on the top speed the top speed was probobly over 230 km/h cause my km/h limiter was to the max when I had somewhere around 6800 rpm but I was pushing like 7000-7100 rpm or lilttle more....

I know that that was crazy pushing it so much so far but I wanned to push it to 7500rpm cause my limit is around 8000rpm new ECU like I said! I did push it almost every time I was on high way but that was the firs time that I've drove so many miles and it was all hard miles...

So now I'm buying my self daily use car (I'll get it tomorrow :D) for that time till we don't tune my civic till max swap the engine and made all that that is on my list :sun:

Right that time when the engine blow up I was like goin about 170km/h or little more and then there were no cars and I pushed the pedal to the metal and it just went off and all that shity thing happend...

I already know what happened, the oil was goin on very high temp. so it lose it's carecteristcs and didn't do thejob and then one of the piston stoped for little and the rod racked on it's way down and broke the engine block and what happened after you already know :(

Why I was pushing it so much- it was very cold so the carwas goin crazy it rev so high and so eazy so I was lookin at water temp and it was still in it's place on the middle like it's all normall so pushed it and thought it's very cold so the engine is cooling well but I guess the oil temp wasn't so normal it was like on the critic limit and that's why all the shit happen'

I'm so mad at my self right now, but what is done is done I can't fix that what I've done, so I must go on and build a better and stronger engine:sun:

Emil - that sucks mate :( I hope you can sort it out sooner or later. It may be to do with the ZC being a tad undersquare in bore v's stroke, but you said it happened when you'd backed off so it prolly wouldn't be RPM related. Could be oil starvation though - the temp gueage is a lousy indicator due to it's positioning on the motor.

Anyway - I hope it's all good soon.

Cheers
Pete

(BTW - for you whinging Yanks who pick on Emil's language skills - STFD and STFU - like you can speak two languages)
