Okay gang here's the question. I am trying to locate a good set of decals for the car in the title. You know the one, it's either the number 27 or 28 car, with the white 'flames' on a red body. I've found some, but they are not the best quality, and they aren't entirely accurate.

If anyone has some tips on how to locate a good set of decals for this car please let me know.

Thanks,
Michael

Which ones did you find? I don't like the Modeller's because the 'flames' are too wide. I used the Renaissance decals on mine. The DMC's look pretty good. You can get the renaissance decals from tnthobbies.com

Here is a pic of mine with the Renaissance decals.

I got some from Pattos Place. They're actually for slot cars. I'm not real pleased with them because of the way they were printed. I think I could have done a better job with an old HP Photo printer. Not only is the printing poor, but the decals are way too thin, and don't like to sit down properly. And I couldn't use any Solvaset to sit the decals down either, because the decal broke up when the Solvaset hit it. So I had to cut each one to fit over the body panels. Not fun, and it doesn't look as good as it could.

Not only that, but the flames are all wrong. The rear deck, isn't even close to what it's supposed to be. I may strip them all off, and try the ones you got. They sure do look good. As does the model.

I tried some DMC which are horrible decals to work with, plus they aren't as nice looking as Modeler's, Renaissance or Museum Collections. Hapico.com has Modeler's in stock and HLJ just recieved the reissued Museum Collection decals. I'm going to try Museum Collections set.:)

I don't know, I'm still waiting on my shipment because the decals were just restocked this week.:)

Steve's example in the Gallery uses the DMC decals:

I used DMC decals on this also, they are rather thin and turned slightly pink over this red.

I just ordered the Renaissance. Problem is that they are several months on back order. Doesn't look like I'll be finishing this kit anytime soon.

Finally got the Museum Collection decals in, they are gorgeous! Very well drawn with the right amount of jaggedness. They supply two sets of everything, yet they are very opaque, I don't think one would have to double up to cover well. Also included, are a set of red seat belts and etched buckles. Now I'm in a conundrum because the TS020 is so beautiful without the decals! To decal or not to decal, that is the question.
