I'm wanting an Xterra and checking info out etc. Notice many of you sign off as Xterra, 3-Pak. etc. etc.. What does 3-pak refer to...is it the available optional packages? Also, any advice on what package options to get with an XE? Thanks

Get all three packs with your XE! They are worth it!

1. Utility Package...tilt steering, intermitttent wipers, 12v power front and rear, step rails, cargo cover, first aid kit, 6 ceiling tie downs, rear window wiper.
2. Sport Package...alloy wheels, fog lights, front tow hook, limited slip rear.
3. Power package..POWER windows, mirrors, door locks, cruise control, remote entry, vehicle security, map lights.

SE has all that plus better sound system and sunroof!

I agree with Rdstarr. Get all 3 option packages. Things might have changed a bit but in 2000 the XE 3-pak was the best value for your money. If you want a sunroof that is blocked by your roofrack (also doesn't pop out) and cloth interior that shows dirt more than the XE (oh and a better factory stereo, but factory stereos will always be subpar to what you can get aftermarket), then get the SE.
