yes, yes it is, the best cartoon, which you probably meant anyways. Its the longest running cartoon show that I know of which makes it great in my book, though I have heard rumors of the seasons getting few real quick.

Absolutely love it. Have loved it for >decade. But it would seem with some recent episodes that they are running out of ideas? All the stories seem to get crazier and less plausable (eg. the Marijuana episode).
Opinions?

i must've seen every single episode of the simpsons at least 50 times i would say. i would say that at max i've only missed 5 or so episodes. even though i've seen them all that many times, i still watch the show religiousley. on a typical weeknight in canada (when there's not playoffs or olympics or anything to clog the networks), then the simpsons are on about 5-7 times a night depending on what cable package you have. i also have the 5'x3' poster on my wall that has every single Simpsons character that's ever appeared on the show up until 2001 (besides celebrities that potrayed themselves), and i have the Complete Guide Book, the Extended Complete Guide Book, and the Super Extended Complete Guide Book, as well as Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD. i swear, i'm not a freak though. :bloated:

So very true, I think on ExpressVu (Satellite) there's almost an episode on in every time slot on different channels all day.
I watched the Story of Homer and Marge's early life and the Germans taking over the Power Plant today not 30 min ago.

I posted in the futurama thread about my viewing habits.
During my high school days, I'd come home and watch 2 eps on Fox, then 2 on UPN.
4 days a week every week for four years straight. Now I can only watch when I'm not cooking. (or if I'm cooking without fear of burning the house down) cause I'm too lazy to run back and forth between TV and that aging time-bomb we laughingly call an "oven"

how can you say that? futurama is a good show, but it has nothing on the simpsons. I dont think futurama will be on as long as the simpsons has. The simpsons is a god when it comes to primetime TV.

Actually, Futurama's already off the air. It was cancelled awhile back. The "new" episodes you sometimes see on Fox are just the leftovers they haven't shown yet. The creaters have all moved on to other projects.
But anyways, I dunno, I just like it better.

A new favorite of mine is the new one from last week where Marge gets all strong & big. Hillarious. They also brought back Ruth Powers.
I'm looking forward to tonight where Homer get into prayin' for everything. Religion eps are always good.

I would have to say that my favorite episode is when Homer becomes "one" with nature, and believes he is doing gods will(or something to that extent). "religious, Ha! I bet he doesnt even know who Jeebus is" -Homer Simpson

The thing about the simpsons is that it's hard to remember the details of the eps of the Simpsons because they're so sporadic...
do you remember how the simpsons wound up having their african adventure and freeing the Jane Goodalls Chimpanzee slaves? Homer caused a strike at the food store, which caused the people to scavenge for food, which in turn led to homer finding an old (winning) box of Animal crackers.
I love how the simpson can take a completely unrelated string of events and tie them together to make a relevant episode...i LOVE it.

The weirdest eps are the ones that are musicals and have no point. Also the ones that are specials for the season, like Holloween or X-mas
