Major Tranny Help

My friend has an 89 CRX Si in which he installed a ZC engine into. since before the swap his 89 tranny has been given him nothing but problems, clutch cable snapping, snagged, etc. so he has an extra tranny from an 88 crx si. he just bought a new clutch from ACT for his 89, and was gonna throw in the the 88 tranny to see if it would be better than his faulty 89.

however, the splines are different from the 89 and 88 trannies that he has, so he cant just swap the clutch over. so his concern is, could he swap all the internals from the 88 tranny into the 89 housing, but still use the output shaft to mate to his ACT clutch?

if any of this made sense, drop a line.

thanks.

is it possible maybe his 88 tranny is really from an HF, and thats why the splines dont match up?

he is in a real bind, he already has replaced the cable three times, the pedel assembly twice, and the clutch master cylinder cuz they have all broke on his whip, so he needs to lose this tranny.

would the best soultuion be for him to buy a ZC tranny?

88 CRX Si trannys are different than any other year CRX. Find something else besides a 88.
