I've searched, and found a couple of old posts about this but none have really anwsered it. I ve tried a heat gun, and oven method but none seem to loosen the silicone glue holding it together, and the housing starts to melt so i cant leave it in longer, its a plastic lense and housing clear corner.. any other ideas? or anybody accomplished this?, thanks

what if you were to boil it or would that warp the lens?

Its not glue its a epoxy which i heard means it a part of the plastic after it cures.. so u cant cut it, its hard as rock...

DREMEL is the best way.

^^^^agreed, that does seem like it would be the best method, get a dremel and a cutting disk, dremel multitools are a very good investment, they are so useful when it comes to almost anything!!

We JUST had a thread about this...

I've tried several different methods including Heat gun and Oven. I can say that the heat-gun method worked the best, but it's still very hard to seperate the lenses without cracking them. I finally got it perfect once, but when I re-attatched the lenses after painting the housings black, I used hot glue. Since it was so hot out in the summer, the lenses ended up flying off...

Anyways, if you're thinking about painting your housings black, check e-bay out, they've got some black-housing corners for sale on there... I figure that's what I'll do if I find some for a 90 hatch.

Oh yeah, also heard that boiling them will warp them.

CZ-R used the dremel method on his, cutting the housing away from the lense, from the backside, but I thought about doing that, and I'd rather pop the lenses off... I dunno..
