I noticed when I put my strut tower brace on my plymouth when I hit one certain curve on my way to work my front passenger side strut pops

I don't have strut bars. It is just a knocking every time I hit a bump in the road! I figured this was pretty common...I wonder how nice it would sound if it didn't do that....;)

Have you checked to see if your struts are blown?

that my friend is the sound of your struts bottoming out, in other words its kind of like a subwoofer voice ciol hitting that magnet under high power, this is called "bottoming out" so your struts metal bars are hitting the bottom of there canisters because they are blownyou should replace that in a hurry bcause i have seen a couple of cases where peeps have hit a large bump, there struts bottomed out and they warped or actually broke the strut mounting spot under the hood off of the car......it had to ahve been something huge they hit, but i could imagine hat you could stil bent the mounting spots thru time

well I think that if that is the case and my car has been doing that for a year now I should maybe look into getting them replaced...huh! well thanks..do you know how much struts are? could I do it myself?:p

strut prices vary widley, but whatever you get make sure they are made for a lowered car, or else you will ahve the same problem again in about 2-3 months after replacing them

oh and as far as replacing them yourself goes, run out and get yourself a decent service manual, i reccomend helms, but a haynes and even a chiltos will work if thats all you can get, i looked over the steps in my chiltons to assure that someone who has never done suspension work could understand them, and you should be able to, and replacing the struts is a fairly simple thing to do, if you are machanically incline you should be able to do it without the manual, although it is nice to have one within arms reach just in case

Hey thanks a lot for the help. I will have to get that done as soon as I can! Hopefully I can find something locally for a lowered car...I live in Saskatchewan Canada so I think my resources might be a little limited!:p

just get on ebay and buy some there, but i would never ever buy used struts because struts are too east to blow out and you cant take peoples words on item descrition anymore, so make sure you buy new struts

you will get different opinions from everyone, i ersonally stand by tocico blues, i was running "dropzone" coilovers on my "sx" and if you dont know, dropzone is known for being very crappy, butthats all i had money for at the time, and with my tocico blues, the springs ride perfectly
