Try this: copy all the files from your windows CD into a folder called 'cabs'. Then boot to DOS and run setup from the cabs folder. Install windows over the top of the original installation to replace any missing/damaged files. :)

LOL. OK. I didn't mean actually pay Microshaft, just burn a copy of ME or something. Or borrow of friends. Once copied, you don't need 'em again.

i wouldn't borrow ME when you could get XP, I have ME on my computer and I hate it, its the pits when it comes to applications. I use XP at school and its so much better.

Do you have any concept of how hard it is to have an illegitimate copy of XP installed and working? It's like George W having Osama over for dinner. Microsoft would have the copyright police at your place faster than you can say 'Maybe it's time to install Red Hat or Mandrake'.....

Well, I wouldn't say that. I haven't had any problems yet.

You have a bootleg copy of XP? The only successful way I have heard of doing it is making 2 mahcines with IDENTICAL specs then GHOSTing the HDD. And even then, if you change anything you're fucked. Tell me when something goes wrong. :smoker:
