Compaq laptop

I have a compaq laptop and it is bein a terd and like it wont play music things dont erase, have the programs are missing, the compaq site doesnt give me shit for help and it wont let me reformat or is there another way to reformat besides going to c right click and hit format it gives me some gay message and im getting pissed off at it (lol it was free) thx for any help ahead of time

Try this: copy all the files from your windows CD into a folder called 'cabs'. Then boot to DOS and run setup from the cabs folder. Install windows over the top of the original installation to replace any missing/damaged files. :)

LOL. OK. I didn't mean actually pay Microshaft, just burn a copy of ME or something. Or borrow of friends. Once copied, you don't need 'em again.

i wouldn't borrow ME when you could get XP, I have ME on my computer and I hate it, its the pits when it comes to applications. I use XP at school and its so much better.

You have a bootleg copy of XP? The only successful way I have heard of doing it is making 2 mahcines with IDENTICAL specs then GHOSTing the HDD. And even then, if you change anything you're fucked. Tell me when something goes wrong. :smoker:

My dear Oz what you are forgetting is that there are corporate licenced XP version which do not require activation.:devil:

Yup - Micro$oft does that for all their product lines. Quite handy actually :)
