Wiring Headlights

I purchased the angel eye projector headlamps for my 96 honda civic and the projectors use H1 and H3 bulbs instead of the factory H4 bulb. Since these bulbs require more power my car doesn't provide the power they need and they blow about every 2 weeks. I have found that upgraded wire harnesses take power directly from my battery. This would provide teh power that I need but I haven't found any harnesses that use H1 high and H3 low beam bulbs. I e-mailed a website with the question but they told me that this combination isn't sold because it would create a spade connection. The response also said that i could use their general harness wires and modify it to my needs but I don't understand 2 things about this. First of all what is a connection spade, and second of all why wouldn't I create a spade if I modified the wires? Will one fellow honda owner please HELP ME OUT! Buying new bulbs every 2 weeks and removing my bumber every time they blow isn't very ideal and I think im on the right track but I do need some help. Thanks a lot

My angel eyes haven't blown out yet...I'll let you know if they do...

you should of got a wiring harness with the kit, it came with mine and i have zero problems.

Mykit came with harnesses but they just connected to my factory harnesses, not to my battery which is what they need to do. Oh, and emerge, they usually won't blow for a month or so if you use the bulbs they give you but they aren't bright at all. When you buy xenons, thats when itll kill ya.

man that fucking sucks. i ordered some dual halo projectors from matrix a week and a half ago.



exactly what lights go out. every light on the assembly or just say the high beam. or the low beam. wich side? both sides? are you touching the bulb glass? is it very cold where you live? honestly how many times have they blown.?

Both my low beams blew within a couple days of eachother but they were xenon upgrades. The left high beam was the first to blow. So far the both low beams have blown twise and the high beam blew once. I then replaced both high beams w/ the bulbs they gave me and i still havn't replaced my lows. Hopefully yours won't have the same problems.

oh and no cold weather and NO i didn't touch the bulbs, i even used gloves and i have done it before w/ no problems

even if you wear gloves and accidently touch the bulb the bulb can still blow

yes i know, and i wore gloves but also DIDN'T touch the bulbs AT ALL. I also have a friend who has the same projectors for his accord an he has EXACTLY the same problem. Trust me it isn't the brand of bulb and it isn' teh installation...not evnough power is getting to the higher wattage xenon bulbs and that is my problem. I need some wire harness or power booster that gives them more power from the battery.

maby your battery is low on juice...

well i just talked to matrix and the dual halos are on back order and the hideiousness of my homeade black housing head lights can not remain so i got some titanium housing jdm head lamps instead.. no projectors for me:(

with these projectors can you guys bust some H.I.D's and still get the highbeams to work?

if you're bulbs keep going out is it because of shitty bulbs?
