Anybody has the right to rice. I wouldn't want the right. If you have the dignity to withstand verbal abuse then go for it. You can mod out a civic and not be rice. I could start a whole thread on RICE.

Ewwwww Rice :flipa: :flipa: .....what the fuck...i'm all about fixing up your honda or nissan or whatever you weapon of choice is. But shit don't waste you time and money on stickers, a wing that will NEVER be put to good use cause you know damn well that with the exception of a few will never put that wing to good use. My personal opinion is make you car look nice, keep it clean and for fucks sake don't rice the hell out of you car.

Some people just can't help it. My biggest problem is this: I get these idiots driving the Honda whatevers and the Mustangs and the all new "my Impreza looks like a WRX"guys pulling up next to me and giving me the attitude and throwing revs at me. I don't even bother most of the time. I usually look over and laugh and shake my head.
I have come to the conclusion that most people have no idea what a quick car is. One guy I know with a CRX came over and took me for a ride. He told me what all he did to it and said I wouldn't believe how good it ran. Half way through the ride I asked him when he was going to get on it. He got real mad and said I was funny. Sad part was I really was waiting for him to run it hard.

Now i will agree that there are the dumb ass, never actualy looked under the hood, sticker bumbs out there are the few to try. Personaly i hate stickers. Why advertise what you have. But their ae the people who try out there. Now the coment about the wing, I feel that most of the time there just for looks because lets face it whe will you ever really get to use it. But i respect the people who know what there talking about, may only have headers and a racing muffler, but that could be all they could affored. Not every one can just put parts on there tab. Now this dosent give them to try and flex when they should know not to. What i'm trying to say is dont get mad at people who are considered "Ricers" just because they cant affored it.

Ok, i gotta say my motto is take it as far as you can. But no i don't like stickers, they're horrible. But i LOVE big strut wings, however they shouldn't be installed until you can hit at least 180(mph).
Ya see, I'm not into dragging, i prefer true racing that takes real skill, as in rally style. And when your taking a 70degree turn at 65(mph) a good wing does help with the downforce to give you a good drift.
As for other mods, i say if it makes the car lighter, or gives the engine more power, put it on.

Notice that a lot of the people who rice out their cars drive really slow all the time, like they want you to notice their cars. Also, if they try to speed anything over 35mph they get pulled over for rice violation...

Define the word ignorant, ignorance is defined as the "lack of knowledge" If you would see half the shit the pulls next to me on the street, I think the people that should be labeled as ignorant are punk kids that have no idea how to make ther car run a 10 second pass at the track, but think that a big ass spoiler looks cool and makes them think that they can run with a 10 second supra!!!!!!!! Now about the word rice, I DON'T RICE MY CAR OUT! I TUNE MY CAR FOR SPEED!!!! im gonna put is this way! If you can tell me how a turbo makes power, your a tuner, if all you know is that they make you car go fast, your a ricer!!! End of story

Stickers have a lot to do with rice bruh. I guess you're the one who needs the dictionary. If you put a lot of stickers of performance mods or etc that you don't have, is rice. You can't find that in Websters dictionary. You gonna serve a biscuit with that rice?

We have this problem on the Fiero board, but much worse. Many people there think two ways: if its asian, its rice, or if its not stock its rice. To me, rice is an attitude, i.e. ; "My 85 HP Civic is fast as hell since I put that stainless steel universal 3" muffler on it, Yo!". Also if I see a Nissan Pulsar (U.S. spec) with chrome 5 spoke hubcaps, homemade aftermarket part stickers, a big NISMO banner on the windshield, with a stereo that would have cost more than the car if it wasn't bought at Wal-mart, and any part of the car spraypainted with dayglow yellow, pink or blue, that's rice. this also applies to Subaru Imprezas with type R badges.
disclaimer: Due to the popularity of the audio section at Wal-mart,this only applies to those who have rhode gear brand components or their equivalent

LOL quit talkin so much shit about kids! na its koo cuz i know how it is. I'm only 16 and i hate when people throw revs at me in there little stock ass civic wit a zillion stickers on it. But there are some of us out there that aint in it for the right to rice. We do it cuz its fun and it gives some of us a tight bond. There are some kids that would shock tha sh!t outta you with the knowledge they got, so dont think all teens are some brainless ricers that are only in it cuz they saw the fast and the furious.

hey i dont think u blokes should go too chokka's at ricers, i think havin a rice car that looks good is sweet and a pretty gurl will be like wooo but it really comes down to this with me... if u got an ugly car but it goes fast wow only u r gonna enjoy it... but if it looks nice and goes fast u'll get the wooo and have the enjoyment... it all comes down to the money...and performance parts etc are alot more $$$$ so i choose to have a car that looks nice at 17 years of age.... maybe when i get more money ill worry about spending on performance parts....:bloated:

I had always thought that being a ricer was having a rice burner. Which to about anyone I know is a four banger that is modded.
I have nothing wrong with modding your car, I mean, I do.
But when you start doing some of the things listed before as in a huge and useless wing, ground effects, stickers up the butt, but with no actual tuning taking place. That annoys me.

And that is what ricing is all about. There is nothing wrong with tuning your car to make it run better or adding body components to make it look nicer. Its just how you go about doing it and what other stuff you put on it is what distinguishes you from being a ricer or a racer.

I don't know were or how the word "rice" came in to assocation with people and putting audacious and atrocious things on there car, but I find it to be fitting! Unless some one can come up with a better name for people that ruin good cars with stickers and 2 dollar spoilers, im going to continue to call it "rice" each and every time I see a car the fits that immage, If I see some one that has spent there time as well as there hard earned money to make there car better, they I will give them the respect and acknowledgment that they deserve!! Untill the time a new name is given to the few that dress up there car in aduatious stickers, Spoilers that are 4 times larger than the car and non-functional, and my personal favorite, unpainted body kits!! Im going to keep using the word rice!! :biggrin2:

as a newbie of AF i joined to get some helpfull advice from all of u car enthuisiests.... it is very amusing to see all the comments written on ricers:sun: i must know though i drive an 84 model nissan pulsar (non turbo):( simply cause i cant afford to run one at 17 years of age  on a reasonably tight budjet i can not aford to put a turbo on my 1.5 litre p.o.s. motor... i have called pulsar specialsts here in adelaide and enquired about turbo-charging my motor, once they told me about de-compression head, new exhuast manifold, computer, electronics and a reconditioned t2 turbo $700aus. i said to the guy "so ur telling me its gona be easier ripping an ET motor out and sticking that in" he replies yes...so there u have it...i must say i am "ricing" my car a little to get it to look nice, not putting MASSIVE wings on but small and front bar, i do have an exhuast system on with muffler(not stock)thanks haha it is a nice little car BUT the 1.5 litre NON-turbo is as weak as piss!!! i need some power!!!!!!! could any of you AF enthuisiests suggest some effictive and cheap modifications i can do to the motor so i got some UUMPH!? i would actually like to be my grandma's diesel gemini one day... thank you

Why not be smart and leave it as it is.. save up and get another car that is newer/faster and looks better.
I could spend thousands on my Nissan, but it would be a waste as it is so far off a GTR, so I will wait until I can afford a GTR.

I don't believe everyone has the same definition of "RICE"
RICE>Is a car that is all show and no go. You can have the most queer ground affects, 9 sets of fog-lights, GT-R/Type R tags, and morestickers than a NASCAR! IF it runs a 10 sec. 1/4 mi. It ain't no RICE

The only people that should have the right to rice are the guys that know most everything about their car... not the fools throwing on a huge tip and a K&N on an 88 civic and trying to rev you into a race at every light. There's too many dumbass F(*&!^#@$&*^ing idiots that dont know jack shit about how their car works or that the mods they have on their car will tear it apart within a few weeks. Those kinds of people shouldn't even be allowed near a car. Furthermore, FWD cars are a waste of money if you're trying to get any traction to put your power to it... AWD is where the traction's at. I laugh whenever I see the riced out FWD Eclipses running around, but respect the GSX's.
Nobody has the right to a cool, modified, or nice car unless they understand basic things like how a camshaft, transmission, etc works. Too many richass dumbasses with money getting shit they dont understand. Especially chicks... and all these kids at my high school friggin getting all these wannabe badass cars and thinking they hot shots because they think their stock piece o shit it fast when they dont even know where their air filter is.
Damn im pissed!!!! You know what i mean!!!!!!!!!!

I know how you feel. There is this one guy at my high school who thought he knew everything. He also though that his bone stock (except for the exhaust tip) was one of the fastest cars in school. He thought it was faster than my lincoln because he raced someone who ahs the same size car as my but has a carberator which sat for like a year and a half, so his carb was crap. he beat him by less than a car length and he thinks he could beat me. He has a late 80's GP. Also he claimed to drive a brand new V12 jag and was gonna rent one . He also thinks that power grows from the crankshaft to the wheels:rolleyes:.

They think they're badass in their stock LT1 Firebird Formulas that their mommy paid for 100%... and this one kid thinks he can slap on a 20psi turbo on his stock accord lx without any support mods... and he says that no mod would ever require an ECU update... wtf kind of stupidass dumbasses...

now this is an afterthought to alex, dont bash them so hard, its probaly not as hard as you think it is to get traction in the front.

Exactly, I have some FWD cars that I have modded and I don't have a problem getting traction. Just remember that FWD, RWD, and AWD all have their ups and downs.

I still prefer the AWD for the launch. Best of both worlds. I just wish I could drop the AWD to RWD to regain the drive train loss after the first 60'. But those AWD launches sit your ass right back in the seat with the best in the world.

I guess a similiar question would be:
why would someone purchase a Mustang in automatic with a weak engine? If I remember right, the purpose of the original Mustang was to provide a sporty looking car without a "sporty" engine to consumers that couldn't afford a "real" sports car.

How the hell do you get 500hp+++ to the ground on a super accelerating FWD car without some serious suspension modifications?

you're right, i don't think its possible...but explain to me why the hell you would ever need that much power in a FWD car?

So you can be very fast and win some racing events and get paid big $$$. That kind of hp to the wheels can pay off in the long run.

Hey to each his own really i think most kids rice out there rides cause they cant mod there cars because of the factory warrenties that they dont want to ruin but in general i wish people would work the engine suspension and the like and then make it look fast, at least then u got ths shit to back it up, u know?

I think they dont do any good mods because they're stupid and think their car goes fast stock. They dont know what fast is..
