tach gone wack

i got a 92 honda accord ex automatic, and i recently noticed my tachometer is kinda wacked. The rpms don't increase normally with the accelerator floored. Instead they increase steadily up until about 4000, then the needle bounces around up and down while increasing. It goes from 3000 to 3500 to 4500 to 4000 to 4500 to 5500 then back to 5000...kinda like that. I don't know if it's the gauge of the engine is really working like that. Any help???

Check the leads to yourition coil and also check your timing and distributer that was my problem.

my brother had the same problem but he didnt fix it.. eventually he sold the car [not cause of that].. so i cant help.

but he thinks that it was the lead..:confused:
