Need help for a fellow rex friend

Ok, i know this guy who just got a pos crx, but it only cost him like $500. Anyways, when the cars revs over 3000 RPM's the low beams (headlights) get brighter, brighter than the high beams, and the radio turns off too, but as soon as it goes below 3000, everyone goes back to normal. Also, after driving it like that for a minute, a weird odor is made, smells like something burning. Does anyone have any suggestions? He'd really appreciate it cuz its a pain in the ass for him. i would check the alt. it may b over-charging & the smell could b electrical.

Okay, this happened to me, i smelt like a burning egg kinda rotten smell, and if thats what you smell, its y our battery, your Alternator is fuked up, what is happening is that your alternator is OVER charging your battery and frying it!!!! i had to replace BOTH on my hatch!!!

Sounds like an alternator problem to me.
