I always loved the WRX and now it got even better...what's not to like.....looks nice, has lots of power....still have 4 doors so it's not a pain in the ass to throw something in the back seat or get people in and out....and it's AWD too!

Seems like the Sti's AWD system will kick the Evolution's AWD's ass.

, a manual mode is integrated into the DCCD system that allows the driver to vary the front-to-rear torque distribution for different driving conditions. Using a small dial on the center console, the driver can set the transfer to send as much as 65 percent of the torque to the rear wheels.

Compared to Evolutions' "mechanical differentials instead of the Japeanese electronic diffs"(From Autoweek magazine.

The Evolution also lacks a 6 speed while the Sti will be sporting the extra forward gear.

I think it looks pretty good, but once again an opinion! Well, It just takes a lot to get a bangn' amount of power out of it. Plus+what kinda price tag is gonna be on it? And, do you wan to pay that much for a Scooby?! Well, to each his own!

If its over $35,000 US then I'm out. It has the performance but nobody crowds around WRXs at the races... they just don't have sex appeal (IMHO).

Base price is going to be about $30,000.

i don't see how they could price it any higher than 30,000, because then you are getting to the outter edge of the market that would be intersested in this car. plus there is not much more to this one than the wrx, so how could they justify it.

Every time they import a car to the states they always tame it down, you are better off buying an older wrx and pimping it out yourself.

Actually.. the new STi will have more hp and tq than the STi offered in Japan..

i know the j-spec sti is labeled at 276, but what does it really have? i know that cars in japan have to be labeled as having 276 hp or less for the emissions or something there. i mean the skyline is labeled at 276hp wtf.

I'm sure the Skyline is a little bit underated.. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's gotta be near the 276 mark in stock specs.... It's just freaking insane when you find out how restrictive the intake and exhaust system is. whoooooooo

They put precats on alot of these cars, especially on Japan. From intake to exhaust tip some of them have 4 cats. And when you take one off, you get a gain of anywhere from 15-40hp. So you can reason what the engines really put out.

Yeah, take THAT, enviroment!

I think Porsche proved in the late 80s we can have performance, and low emissions... in fact, they're still doing it. The 996 TT is California emissions cleared, and actually is quite a bit cleaner than the standard.
