Glad to see the board is up and running again!!

Does anyone have some pics of the trimming they had to do to run 33x12.5's on the inside front wheel well. I have a 3" susp. and 2" BL and get rubbing at compression. Going to take the dremel or sawzall to it this weekend but looking for some pics to get a good idea of what I am in for. Thanks

:)

Don't think I've seen pix of 33x12.50 trimming, but I'm sure you could figure it out. See where the tire touches, cut the plastic 'til it doesn't. Lather, rinse, repeat ;)

Out of Curiousity, what kind of rims do you have tires on, and do you know what the offset and backspacing is? (Different rims require a different amount of trim)

Although, Brent has mentioned the easiest way to figure out how much trimming you need, I am also curious about your setup.

Those are the same size rims that I am running. Only I'm having problems with rubbing on the inside (where the mudflap plastic piece used to be). I have the poor mans sus. lift. AALs and New T-bars, and bilsteins all around. Now that I have my winch I rub pretty bad when I max out steering and hit a pothole or bump. I got so frustrated that I removed the lastic trim piece which helped a bit until I got the winch.

Oh yeah, I'm running 265-75r16 Trxus on the 16"X8" 5"BS rim. No body lift and about 1.5" sus lift.

Would a 2" body lift solve this problem?

Would my tires look small with a 2" BL?

Should I got with 33's if I lift it?

The Rims are obviously the problem.

Any ideas or suggestns?

Thanx

Warning this is my opinion....not recommendations

Yes, I think it would.

>Would my tires look small with a 2" BL?

Not too sure about that...probably not

>Should I got with 33's if I lift it?

Not unless you plan on both a suspension and body lift

>The Rims are obviously the problem.

Why are they the problem??? Do you mean the tires?

>Any ideas or suggestns?

I would suggest a 2" body lift and 32's. Keep the 1 1/2 you have. Just be prepared to install the body lift or pay someone who knows what they are doing.

I have been using this as a good reference

AntiTreeHugger ran 33x9.5x15 tires on his Xterra with only a 2" body lift. But if you want tall and wide you'll more than likely have to add a suspension lift as well.

The reason why the tires are rubbing so much is because of the backspacing on the aftermarket rims and the fact thay they are 8" wide. If I ran these tires on the stock 16"X7" 5.256" BS nissan rim I would only rub on the ARB under compression.
I want to avoid a suspension lift becuase I dont want to have the steering problems that most lifted trucks have.
Thanx for the input.
