Go to your local place were they tint windows and just ask for some off cuts that they throw away, then read in the FAQ how its done.

What i found useful to tint model cars are pieces of acetate.
They come in all sorts of colours, you can really give it that show car look.
I have some blue ones on some of my models, to emulate whats seen in shows, and the best thing about them is, I can remove it when i want to

It's clear plastic that's very thin and can also be used to make model car windows.:)

i use real tint material. i bought a do it yourself roll at the auto store and it will last me forever. it only cost me like $5-10. dont remember. i sometimes put it on the outside of the clear plastic since it is smoother. thats what i did on my supra below.

How dark do you use? I have 5% from a long time ago, but I'm afraid its going to be too dark for a model. Since in a real car you can barely see out of it

30% is what i have but lighter would not be bad since it is pretty dark with 30%. 5% would be like painting the plastic black.
