i think i know what it is, but i had a conversation w/ a 550M owner & he said "I don't know, it has red valve covers if that's what you mean." so what are the stipulations for a Ferrari to be called a redhead. i know that TestaRossa means redhead, right?

I'm not quite sure on its exact meaning, but when I think red-head, I think of the '58 250TR. mmmmm, just thinking about the sound that engine makes....

Red Head in Italian is Testarossa, as in Ferrari Testarossa.
Almost all Ferraris no have one part red in the engine bay but it's originally from the 3.3 liter 12 cylinder of the early 50's, and form the 57' Testarossa, I saw a show that explained it all once but forget now.
That temr though 'red head' is reffering to the cylinder head covers of the original testarossa's engine. They are just red covers, nothing special.

Oh, no. Not at all, I love them. They are near perfection. I was just wondering how anyone could say "nothing special" about a Ferrari, then I noticed it was Porsche that said it. I just thought it was funny.

I admire Gemballa for the hastiness of his defense of Porsche.
