I just got a 91 Maxima GXE. When you drive it the body rolls really bad but the tires never lose contact with the road yet it feels very unsafe. I took my friend for a ride in it to see if he could diagnose it (mechanic's son) and he thinks that the struts are shot. So if this is whats the problem what type/brand of struts should i get or should i replace them with stock struts. I am wondering if stock will hold up because i plan to lower the car when i replace the struts. Anyone know a good spring/strut combination? Also where i could get them for a decent price? Thank you for your help.

I can't tell you what to replace them with( I don't own a Max), but I will say this, if you're planning on modding the suspension; you're better off buying the new suspension now while it is being worked on rather than later. It would make no sense in replacing them with stock equipment now and them change them again later with performance ones, feel me. So, just do a little research as to which performance mods you want and get those instead. You might want to also consider replacing the sway bars to help more with the body roll. Also with the change in struts and shocks, some tower struts. Hope that helps.

You might consider a set of strut bars and sway bars to reduce the body roll. This link may offer some more info:

I've decided on Tokico struts ($300) and Suspension Techniques springs ($172). Anyone know something i should know too that would deter me from getting these before i go ahead and order them?
