How did you find us?

Been a while since I asked, I think, and we have a bunch of noobies around at the moment...

Specifically, how did you get to this Car Modeling forum? :D

Explanations are helpful...;)

Veyron was emailing me pictures from the gallery, I asked him for a link to it. I was the one that found my way into the forum, and then told him about it. The rest is history.:cool: :D :sun:

I found this website, when i was searching online "google" searching for Integra pictures, for my brothers car, and came across a car from the AF gallery! i immediatly thought it was a real car and clicked!! then i found out, how real like these cars could be!!

directly to this forum by JE 123 . I was invited to join AF in general by a personal invitation by Igor himself (!) after I stumbled across another site of his and requested to add a link to that site from mine. I also requested Skyline information from him and he sent me some:D The rest is a maddening blur! I actually searched through all of my posts to find the first one:bloated: I've been hooked ever since! Only recently have gone outside the Car Modelling forum and now I know I'm not going anywhere!:sun:

I too came across the forum through a search on google for some model related item. It came up with a link to one of the threads in the car model forum, took a quick look around and joined immediately.

i think i asked onn another forum if there were any other good forums that i could visit and someone gave me a link to AF and then i got hoked:D

I also found the AF gallery in a GOOGLE search, I checked out the galleryit re-ignited my interest in models (i used to build lowriders and lots of Revell kits back in tha day), After i browsed throught the gallery for my third time, i felt i needed more so i clicked on Modeling Forum, and i guess i never left, I dont think ill ever leave!

when i got kicked off chris suggested this place to me, and i found out i was already a member

A friend suggested me to the 88-91 Civic Forum, then I think there was a link in there for some reason to the Model forums. Looked around and saw how great these models look. So once I get money again, I'm getting back into making models :D

Pretty much the same way as fly did, through a Google search result!

I think we need to advertise more! :D

Though I'm consistenly amazed at how high we rank on Google. Type in [model manufacturer] & [car model name] of any car in the Gallery, and we're almost always in the top 10 results. :coolguy:

it's true! that's exactly how i found my way onto here. my friend Derek (dorikin) had told me about the gallery while searching for pics, so i did my own search, saw some pics in the gallery, and noticed the forum. when i saw how much knowledge and skill you guys had, i just HAD to join! i told Dorikin how great it was, and not long after he joined too, although he's not on here as much as i am. like tonioseven, i just recently started to roam the other forums AF has to offer. what a package this site is!!:D :D

AF is the first of my many links on my website! Everybody I know that's into models, I tell them about the forum. I'm gonna put a link tothe forum in my Yahoo! email signature to help spread the word ;) :cool:

moved over here on the PH bandwagon and shortly after found the Car Modeling forum. :)

same here, this was after i decided to take up Auto models agian after taking a short brake.

Same reason as above... was looking for some model kit pictures and ended up here :)

Veryon recommended it to me. And thank god for this forum. I was getting sick of looking at and hearing about NASCAR(about the lowest form of automotive engineering on the planet) and Hot Rods etc. on another board I was on.

Did a google search on "Mugen integra type R" I think after looking for reference pics for my bro, then got linked to pkw1's car and I read the descripsion then immediatly saw there was a forum which I browsed through and joined!

Up until the past month or so, I been also visiting the "COMPLETLY off-topic" forum as well as others including this one!

i went to a searchengine and typed in "1/24 Integra Type R" and i got this forum, ignored it once, and then typed in "1/24 Civic Type R" and got this forum again, by that time i came in and take a look @ the ppl's topic and seems cool hahah

I met Huddo in England, I had been in contact with him through a Formula One modeling websight/Forum. He suggested this site, so I took a look, and thought that there are lots of people here with LOTS of enthusiam, just had to join!...........

became a member of AF and then one day stumbled my way here. I've been stuck ever since:rolleyes:

I was doing a search for "Chevelle models" And I came up with Pmans Green 67 in the gallery. Then I saw "Read more about this model here..." I clicked, found this to be the only model forum on the internet and joined up.

I am another who found the Forum by carrying out a search on Google for the Nissan R390. I opened the Forum Gallery and was presented with a website that I've always wanted to find. I must've viewed and read every subject on the gallery.

When I opened the Forum, Fly's SAS website caught my eye and I sent him a PM, to which the AF was introduced. So I joined. No regrets.

End of story.:D

I can't remember if it was Yahoo or Google, but I was looking for model kit related sites and I was directed here. What a link! It's proved invaluable :D

I think that somebody posted some link on RCMG and that I joined AF.

Hmm, I was on a surfin' safari, looking for some model car advice, stumbled on this link called something like scalemodelindex.com, and there it was, almost hidden in the "links" section, my precious, my AF !

It was love at first sight, I gently surfed through her pages, she gave lovingly information,helped me along my first steps in the field...
Slowly showing more of her and step by step, as I learned which buttons to press:) , She uncovered herself, and now I can say that she has grown on to me;) Won't you just love her!
Although I know I have to share her with many others, she knows she can count on me ... Me and my af, a love story, to be continued... ;)

PCModeler from the same website gave me the link while I was searching for RallyCar stuff. So that's how I found.

i found the gallery by chance surfing through the net...then came to the forum...IMO...so far...this is the best forum i ever came across...keep it up...and keep the pics in...

For me.... I landed here when I was looking for the Pennzoil Skyline R34 reference pics at googles. They return me with results with one Pennzoil done by tazdev in the gallery..
I look at the models and fall in love with them and found the link to AF Modeling Forum.
That's how I landed up here and still loving the models and started eversince.

Just got to love AF and proud to be a member here!:D

I found the AF Gallery when i was looking for R32 pictures on Google.

I really don't remember how I found the car modeling forum. I think I was looking up some information on some cars and stumbled across automotiveforums. It took me about a week to realize that there was a car modeling forum.

www.google.com after searching for 'faq+modeling+tamiya' or sth like that and that was the last time I used google to find answers to my modeling questions (since I can almost find everything on this superb forum).

The superb thing about this forum is that you can find a lot of illustrations and pics to go w the specialised knowledge of all you modellers.

When I had my Civic I was looking for a Civic forum apart from the usual and I found the Canadian one from google.Then 1 day I looked at all the other forum and saw this one and then I started modelling again.

I got here by a friend, and it wasn't for modelling :rolleyes: it was a weird story about a man who ahd to go for a BIG message on the toilet and had to throw up in the same time. That's a little summary, and strange enough it wasn't yet in the off topic area... because if it was I would be here probably, it was the Painting guide by Guido who costed me so much money :sun: since i saw his o so shiny Scooby i wanted tog et that too. but haven't done so much yet..
I can still remember that it costed more that 1 week to get 40 threads, now within a day we get more thatn 40 threads.. Man what have we grown!!

I was searching for "car modeling" on Yahoo and I found the "Car Mdeling Gallery" on AF then I clicked on the link to this forum.

I was found it by doing a google search for model car sites to find out some info and then stuck around.

i stumbled upon it by using various search engines to find modeling tips. what a find!!!

I've been here on AF long enough to remember a time before the Model forum existed...

I was browsing the Supra forum whilst pretending to work one day and decided to see what else was on offer. Best days pay I ever earned.

I was looking on the web for information on how to paint my models, and one of the posts in this forum appeared in the search from google.
