Top Ten Best Cars

Ok, but no race cars or rally cars or F1 cars k?

1. Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R V-Spec 2-explosive thrust, insaine top speed
2. Toyota Supra RZ-same as above
3. Corvette ZO6-same as above
4. Honda NSX R- great cornering, they made the VTEC sound pretty acruate
5. Camaro SS- cheap but very very very fast early in the game
6. RX-7 RZ- fun but the race RX-7s are funner and have more character
7. Nismo 400R- looks sooooo good in red
8. Mazda Miata- gets you through early in the game, especially with a new turbo kit
9. Mutisubishi Evo/ WRX STi ..TIE..- great fun and good grunt for a four cylinder
10. Lotus Elise Motorsport- sooooo much fun, great looks too.

I'm so disappointed with the list of cars on GT3...
there should be more BMW's, Mercs, a Lancia Integrale EVO, more Alfa's, FIATs...
too many damned Imprezas and Mitsu evos!! do we really need 7 of each????!?!?!?!?!?

Sorry about changing the topic, I just couldn't help but air my disappointment.. I felt the game needed more diversity and quite frankly I expected it... Oh well, at least they have something to work on for GT4!! :D :D

why do they call the porsches RUF?

RUF is a tunign company. So they make modded Porsches.

The Diablo wasn't in it (I heard) because lamborghini didn't want their car to be substandard. It wouldn't be the aspirational car in the game. A bad move, IMO, just put the damn car in it!

What about the Mitsu 3000GT VR-4? I have a stage-4 turbo and get about 250+ mph from it.

No, actually, RUF produces and markets cars as an independant firm. They use Porsche hardware, but the finished products themselves are rightfully their own, labeled as RUF. For example, if you saw AMG make cars as RUF does, then you would also see AMG dealerships, with cars on their lots which have AMG placards all over them, and no silver arrow 3-pointed stars.

RUF is a manufacturer in its own right. OK it does mod porsches but it changes absolutely everything and the cars are registered as RUF's and not Porsche's. In that way it is different to AMG and BMW's M-division etc...

RUF currently makes the world's fastest production car, the R Tubo (the yellow car on the linked site). The comp has made many models, this one is not to be confused with the Turbo R, theyre not the same model. There's a post about it somewhere in the Porsche section, some pictures too i think. The most famous RUF was the narrow-body 469bhp CTR "Yellow Bird", which lapped the Old nurburgring in record time and in amazing fashion under test driver Stefan something's control. Apparently it was sideways for more time around the twisty circuit than straight! :D you can find a lot of stuff about this on the net, i managed to find a site where you could download on board footage of Stefan driving the CTR but sadly can no longer find it! :mad: :mad:
I have only ever seen one RUF, a black beauty with spoilers peppered everywhere. it was parked next to a 993 Turbo (my fave car of all time) and believe me it made it look tame.

are RUF only a US company, because they definitely arent in the UK, and i never heard of em before until GT3? as for the order, i too dont care about the rules:

RUF is a German company. Check out the "Yellow Bird" 911 CTR, which in its day (late 80's i think) annihilated the Old Nurburgring... The video of the RUF test driver (Stefan something or other) driving Yellow Bird around the 'Ring can be bought over the net and in some stores im sure.... It's supposed to be quite unbelievable

the RUF superbird is not the fastest production car ever made or currently, so learn your facts.

You misunderstand him. The RUF is the fastest car being made right now. Sure the McLaren F1 amongst others are faster, but they arent in production anymore, the RUF still is. NOW do you undertsand wot Crayzayjay meant?

1994 Dauer 962 Lemans at 2.6secs, mclaren at 2.9secs, and the RUF Turbo R is much slower at 3.5secs.

the top speed winner is the 1988 Callaway Sledgehammer Corvette at 254mph, the mclaren places at 240mph, the RUF, 193mph.


So depending on how you look at what the fastest car is, the mclaren is much faster than your RUF. so you can go find your own facts and feel ashamed.

oh no not this again. i thought we cleared this up. Yes, the McLaren IS faster than the RUF, but it isnt in production anymore. I am quite happy to admit the McLaren is the fastest "production" car ever, but they dont make it anymore. There will be cars that go into production soon enough that are faster than the RUF, but at the moment the RUF is fastest.

I know full well that the Dauer is faster 0-60 than the McLaren, BUT there were not enough made for them to be properly classed as a production car, and the Corvette is a tuned car, so that doesnt count either. If you want to get into tuned cars there are many that will wipe the floor with any of the afore mentioned cars. The Dauer also hit 250mph, and that was with normal gearing. Change the ratios and it will easily get higher than that. Buy the way the top recorded speed for the McLaren is actually 241 mph, and its 0-60 is 3.2 secs (either 3.2 or 3.3, im not sure which). So i dont actually feel ashamed of my facts as they seem to be right, unlike yours:D . and enough with arguin over the fastest current production car, its like floggin a dead horse.

i agree that this arguing is getting old. and their were different types of mclarens, the F1 LM did 2.9 the regular F1 Supercar did 3.2.
