It's a strong bar, it's just another brace. I can't see it really doing much when its so close to the rear of the car.

That's what I was thinking too.

Just another brace. Yeah, it is too far from the center of the car. If you want to see an example Benen Industries make them too.

kris - Type R's have a simliar brace in that same location. However the ITR's are built far differently than out cars. Hell you can't even take that rear brace off a ITR and put it on a GSR because the subframe is different. People try to mimic it though, it might work it might not, just go buy the nuespeed rear strut tower brace if you want to make the back stiffer.

Myself I was not interested in it, but rather curious as to why it was placed there.
Thanks for the info though.

i dont know, aside from supporting a box, it seems pretty useless, i could use one though, the first time i hit a good bump my sub box smashed the crappy cardboard like cover on top of the spare tire well

you know ive been looking at this pic for like 15 minutes, mostly trying to figure out what kinda car its from and i think i know what its for. theres no board of nuffin above the spare well, so its probly just a support to hold up a board so it lies flat and even with the plastic molding of the trunk. Cause you notice how the molding is slightly curved right at the end of the trunk? your probly supposed to have some sort of board that goes inside and covers the spare, and that brace just holds it up to make the trunk flat and flush with the molding.

Well, the guy made it for a brase, similar to the itr. But that could work too.
