Just as the title suggests, my drain plug oil thread is broken, and currently, the hole is drilled bigger than normal. I used the 2 dollars rubber plug with a screw on plate from auto store, but I don't know if it will last a while. My question is that is it possible to go to a junkyard to get the OIL PAN itself and replace it. Will there be anything like holes ,etc. stuck inside the pain, or will be a regular hollow pan? I mean, its pretty easy to take it out, just unscrew about 12 screws or so. Thanks .

it should be possible to just get from a junkyard, just make sure it doesnt have any rust, and is clean inside when you put it on.

look the pan over very carefully, then clean it up real well. Id even repaint it since you have it out right now anyway. Get a new gasket from the dealer or a parts store or whatever. then you just have to drop the A pipe off your exhaust manifold and a dozen or so bolts and bolt the new one on...

So basically, it is possible? I was confused wether or not that piece the drain plug screw goes into is one big piece. Another question is that besides junkyard, where can i get this piece? How much you think it cost at a Honda dealer? At a junkyard, most cars would be without wheels, so I might have to wait until spring to possibly do any serious lifting. :D
Thanks for the tips.
