I was just looking @ http://www.driveshaftshop.com and started wondering if the sentra se-r driveshafts fit the P10. If not, where can we find stronger aftermarket driveshafts?

Well, unless you are looking at building up a AWD primera i think you meant axles instead of driveshaft :D Anyways to asnwer your question, the axles on the G20 and se-r are different. You could always use an SE-R transmission and run the beefier SE-R axles, but I'm not sure how much work that would require. My guess is you would need to swap over the hubs too, and i'm not sure if that is possible, or how much work or fabrication that would entail (sp?). Hope this helps.

Did you notice that they would make custom axels (half shaft assemblys)

Actually, if you're going to be technical, both are wrong. Technically they are called halfshafts.

No you can't.

FWIW the SE-R halfshafts are no beefier. Remember, I have both an SE-R and a G20. Also, the CV joints can be interchanged. It would be easier to change them than the hubs, but there is no need.

You don't need heftier halfshafts. They are not a weak link in the SR20 drivetrain. I've only heard of 2 broken halfshafts on SR20 powered cars in the last 5 years and almost a thousand subscribers to the SE-R Mailing List.

Long before you need heftier halfshafts, you will need to upgrade your gearbox. Right now that means cryo treating and shot peening the input shaft and third gear at minimum - best to do all gearsets.

Mike Kojima was trying to get Quaife to make a gearset for the USM SR20 gearboxes, but they didn't think there was enough market.

So, don't waste you money on custom halfshafts. Even the stock ones hold up to 500 hp monsters.

What are you building.

Yes, you're correct. I should have said halfshafts, I'm stupidm, I wasn't paying attention :(. As for the hubs, I wasn't sure if they were interchangable or not. I guess that explains why Jason Garrett Young (sp?) did the frankenstein half-shafts for his G20? I was just thinking that if the aftermarket halfshafts were stronger, it'd be a better alternative than the frankenstein ones on a very high hp car. And I figured they wouldn't fit into the G20 hubs, because the G20 halfshafts are larger than the SE-R ones, I thought? IIRC my G has a 36mm nut on the end of the halfshaft, where the SE-R has a 32mm one, don't know exactly what that equates to as far as a size difference of the shaft though? Arn't the splines going into the tranny different too?

The splines and the threads for the nuts are part of the CV joint and not the shaft itself.

here's a thought, just go buy some new half-shafts from Infiniti, take them apart and have them cryo treated.

You could, but why waste your money?
