Hi all, I've had this kit for a while but not touched it for ages so thought I might as well get on with it during the winter months...
So far I've started the chassis and just finished (more-or-less) putting all the decals on the body, I'm not a great fan of decal covered kits but the decals on this hasegawa kit has been a joy to do. Going to leave it a few days then clear coat the body, in the mean time I'll be starting the interior.
Sorry for the slightly out of focus shot.. I forgot to take it with the macro function and its just run out of battery power :( I'll post more as I progress.

Great work. I've heard the Hasegawa kits have some inaccuracies, does anyone know exactly what they are?

That Stratos looks great, I am actually busy with the same kit, started on the chassis myself and been doing all the prep work on the body.
In the photo your chassis looks satin black? Also, are you going to paint the 'engine' sections they call for being silver?
How are you going to paint the window trim with all the decals on, will you do this after you have clear coated?
Another question, with the louvre section on the rear above the engine, did you glue that all in place before painting? I am uncertain what I am going to do about it so maybe you can give me some pointers.

I hope my paint and decals will come out as good as yours, I look forward to seeing more of your progress:)

No the chassis is matt black, its just the way the pic came out, I havent got round to painting the engine details yet, i'll be doing that soon.
I'll do the window trim after clear coat.
The rear window louvres and the 'roof spoiler' are not glued as yet. I just placed them there for the picture. The only thing I'm worried about is putting the body onto the chassis when its nearly complete as its a VERY tight fit. Look forward to seeing yours.

Man, I just love Hasegawa for producing this kit, and the 037 as well! My all time favourite rally cars :right:

First is a great pleasure to see you start a new project Del-R. :)
Especially this one because as you ear me say several times Lancia have build some of the most beautiful rally cars of all times.
The Stratus is also one of my future project (only with a different decal scheme) so I have one more point of interest in this progress thread.
Good work and keep us informed.

It's looking fabulous! I m awaiting impatiently to see more pics of its progress. By the way, is it a curbside klit ? Thanx, and keep up the good work ! :)

The kit is pretty much a curbside, since the engine detail is very minimalistic.

Thanks for the answers, it honestly helps to know that you tackled the body the same way as I was thinking. I test fitted the body on the chassis assembly, talk about a tight and tricky fit!!
I have another question for you, for the colors H-85 Sail Color and H-86 Red Madder, what are you using/doing, I can't get either of those here (only have access to Tamiya and Testors paints) and was wondering if you knew of any color that was close, since I don't even know what those colors look like.
Thanks for the advice and help, I will post a photo of mine for you when it gets far enough to be worth posting:-)

Thanks for the comments so far.
Freakray:- No I havent found a close match yet, I'll just mix a color until its a close match.

I've been working on the chassis which is almost complete. Here are a couple of pics:-

I see you just painted the complete firewall black, I never thought of that.
Thanks for your help.

Well actually I had something i was going to stick there but I only had enough for that area and I made a mess of it so decided to leave it black! I was never that much of a perfectionist:(
