Hey all, well my integra was totalled not long ago you can see pics here..... http://www.clanlapd.com/car/baby.html
Well looks like I get some insurance money and I would like to lower it alittle not too much. Something nice and stiff and real clean. I was lookin at Eibach and Neuspeed which were really expensive and lowered to where I think I want it at around 1.2 - 1.3. There are also some Comptech springs that lower to 1.25 which cost around $180 or so. Is it worth it to pay $180 for comptech springs vs neuspeed or eibach which are around $240? Any comments or advice is welcome thanks for your time. And another thing, I've herd some bad stuff about short shifters etc. What do you guys think about them are they harmful what should I watch for? Should I even bother? etc etc Thx again.

I would say go for the higher end springs. Do you plan on getting shocks with that also? Cause if you don't you're probably gonna have problems later on (shocks will be shot). You can get a nice combo shock/spring package for around 550 or so. I say do it the the right way the first time!
As for the short shifter, I really don't know that much about that. What I think most people say is get a reputable brand and have it installed professionally or by someone who really knows what they're doing.
Oh yeah and by the way, what happened in the accident?

Well this bitch..... I mean lady pulled out infront of me makin a left turn and i hit her back end goin about 45mph. She was in a gay ford escort.
Well as for the springs, I didn't know you had to get new shocks........ Could I not leave them stock and just get the lowering springs, im looking at Eibach 1.7 now. Why would I have to get new shocks etc?

the thing is shocks are set up to only work 100% with the stock springs on a car. And when you lower a car the shocks have to do more work cause you're riding lower. And sometimes that leads to the fluid bubbling and getting to hot and then the shock is shot.

So is it common that when people buy springs they buy new shocks too?

yeah, usually people go this way, im sure most people on this forum went that way. But some people do just use lowering springs with stock shocks, or they just cut their springs, usually they're ricers.:p

well I'll be getting another integra 94 - 97 deffinitly and I want to take care of it and everything the best I can. So I assume I'm going to have to get springs and shocks along with them, is there any type of shock I need to get for a 1.7 Eibach spring? What should I look for or is it nessicary to do it and just wait till my stock shocks go out?

i would get the springs and the shocks at the same time, cause usually you can get a good deal on a whole package. Also if you do ride stock shocks for a while then you're probably going to have a very bouncy ride. If you're looking for some good combos check out the suspension package part of www.modacar.com they have good deals.
Also it's better to get them in packages cause sometimes it's hard to figure out what shocks will go well with springs because of the tension ratings and all.
Hope i've been a help and post pics. of it lowered :)

well to tell you the truth they should still drop about that far, where did you get that number from in the first place? That sounds about right, but since EVERYONE ELSE IS TO LAZY TO POST i couldn't give you a definate answer. Maybe someone else could speak up here! . That seems like a good setup though, I hope it treats you well!
