I say we get together an AF Party! We could all meet somewhere in the middle, and get together to party and cruise. If you guys have any ideas hit it up! :licker:

none of you want to catch a flight to Daytona?! Spring break will be coming soon! And if you have never been to Spring Break in Daytona you haven't lived! Well maybe cause' there is Cancun, Jamaca, Bahamas, Panama City, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami! Well in other words all ya'll need to bring your asses to the "Dirty South UHHHHHHHHH!"

No cause we have Glamis Beach here in CA, its just a week long party with 4x4s, Dirt Bikes, Sand Rails, PreRunners, and lots and lots of Chicks.

Then we have Lake Havasu just to the east in Arizona, where the rich boys come to show off their 60ft Go Fast Boats... dont forget all the women in bikini's.

We've deffinately got the more RedNeck locations out here. ;)

I just had a scary image of Layla, Redneck's Nova, TV's T-Bird, and Fatninja's MPV all rushing down the Corkscrew at Seca. (of course, guess who's leading because of his vastly superior heel-toe abilities, straight cut gears, and pretty boy looks;) )

Daytona is only an option for me if it's during the 24hours of Daytona. Otherwise I refuse to be surrounded by incoherent adolescents rendered totally useless to society by alcohol, who insist on blasting insipid music through their car stereos, and support who MTV's commercialization of what used to be a nice vacation away from excessive studying and unsuccessful flirting.

Actually, you'd be suprised how well a Nova handles... its no F1 car like my Truck (I Swear it does!) but it does pretty good if you rebuilt the suspension with newer technology components.

But I believe you on Nova handling. They've the same suspension as the 1st gen Camaros, and the Z-28's of that generation can hang with a lot of today's cars.

Just don't be surprised when the torquey 1.8L pushrod MG four gets me out of the corners on a clip pretty much equal to you. I'm actually making more lb ft of torque then horsepower. Aren't oversquare bores cool?

You act as if it would be a difficult thing.

A: My car weighs 1800lbs dry. It's an 8 gallon tank, and the driver (me) weighs in at 115lb.

B: Take a look at your knee. That's about the width of my tires, and they're bias-plies. People wonder why I drift an MG, it's because I can't get a grip with it and maintain any sort of speed.

Hence, your Nova would only need to hook on that delicate 5inch overhang where the bumper usually is to loop me around.

Glad to hear that you decided that this wasn't a good idea. I don't like spinning. It tends not to impress people, and I really couldn't retaliate until your Nova was unattended.

With all honesty, I think the #1 best place would be...
Vegas. Think about it: free parking, cheap hotel rooms, cheap flights (from $310 round trip from Miami and $200 round trip from NYC), reasonable driving distance from UT, AZ, SoCal, etc., built-in entertainment, etc. It has the offerings of a large city but without the parking fees. (No joke, all parking is free in Vegas, with the exception of expos like Comdex.) :cool:

OK let me add: $300 from Philly, $200 from Chicago, $100 from L.A.

Right now SouthWest Airlines got a deal going for a Ticket out the Vegas for $19.

I'd still drive though... much funner.

Stringback driving gloves, yes. Scarf, yes. Leather helmet and goggles, nope. Layla's an MGB GT, the one with a roof, so I just wear black tint Aviators and a black jacket. Besides, my hairs doesn't all fit in one of those helmets. Just one of the difficulties of my carefully maintained, mid-back length coiffure.

NO!!! This whole area (ESPECIALLY Vegas) turns into hell when all the spring breakers come 'round. Since we're in the desert and it's warm, all the Coloradoans and northern Utahns and westerners all show up in St. George and Vegas (they're here for New Years too) and the whole town turns into a bunch of vomit from the teenagers screaming out car windows.
I would say some time around Spring Break (best weather) would be good but NOT spring break itself.

When exactly is Spring Break?? From my experience, spring break for college and highschool are rarely the same. So since Carnutt goes to College and works at a highschool......? Unless the spring break is the same time..

They usually are around the same time. I will be in Vegas Around May 18th. Damn I can't wait! It's one of my good friends Charles 21st! Click! I say lets do it in May or June, that is when I'll be out of school, otherwise I won't be able to go.

TV, you are correct... 350 miles of desert roads combined with no side windows, suspension that feels like the shocks were welded to the springs and the loud engine next to our heads would cause us to unpredictably slam the throttle down & rally off a cliff. When we make it to the bottom, we jump out (brush our organs off our tailored suits) and run 100 miles to the nearest interstate. We'll flag down the next tan VW diesel truck, throw the driver out Vice City style and pretend like we peeled out as the mighty 50HP engine bogs. We'll make it to Vegas four weeks later, bleeding profuselfy from all orifices... all over the truck's pristine orange vinyl interior (circa 1981). By that time the AF meet will be LONG over and we'll just have to blend in with the crowds in Vegas and drink, gamble and patronize the local working women.

In other words, we'll be taking the Suburban up to Vegas. Keep in mind it gets uncomfortably hot around May & June... so the sooner the better.

I'm used to the heat. That's no problem. It's getting out there.

i have a better idea. Since certain places are just too far for some, we can have a series of meets. For example. New England area can have their own meet while mid eastern US has theirs as well as south eastern US and so on. What do you guys think?

Well, that sounds like a descent idea.

That would be the most suitable way. As we meet more often like that, we could all think up idea's for one big annual meet.

We could have several meets all happening at the same time..... Set up webcams and link everyone together then it'll be as if we're partying together! hahahahha

We could have local meetings (like So. Cal.), then like 3 months after that the locals could get together in regional places (like Vegas). Once a year or so, we could have a national meet (in, say, Texas or something). That way, those who can't make it too far will at least get to know some locals... and those who can travel will have something to look forward to if the local events prove rewarding.

We could even have "people's choice" at each meet to make it a little fun!

I say we have a Ventura County meet. There are so many peeps hangin' out here... hopefully we could recruit some more members or something.

I say the AF party should be in my backyard, 25 acres of pure fun:D But yeah, I'm thinking if it's gonna be in summer, it should be somewhere where it doesn't get over 80 degrees.
