I don't really see what that has to do with Porsche, aside from a number of goodies being used in the car... It's an Audi through and through. A mighty fine Audi at that too. :D

Porsche did have a lot to do with this car and rightly deserve to take the credits!! I saw a nice RS2 fly by me today as though i was standing still... oh yeah, i was :hehehe:

IMO, this is the best drivers' car Audi have made this last decade:

315bhp from a turbocharged 2.2L 5-pot, making for a 4.8s dash to sixty and top speed of 162mph, not to mention it looked beautiful in a way the RS4 never really managed. Cool car, and not pretentious like the more recent fast Audis.

Many Porsche parts are used in the Audi S-Cars, but they are not Porsches.
I am quite familiar with the 20V 5 cylinder turbo, in fact, my intetentions are to put one in the 924, once I have the suspension/brakes, body and interior sorted out... probably get around to it in a year or two :)
Much more impressivive than the hp output is the torque these 2.2 liter engines produce. Due to an undersquare shortblock, and high static compression, they produce peak torque at around 2000rpm. I'm not sure, but the RS models may make their peak torque at somewhat higher speeds, because of their lower compression.
I had never seen an RS2 before... How many years did they make them?

They made ~2200 cars from '95-'96. (200 RHD)
The RS2 was based on a S2 Avant, and Porsche upgraded the suspension [wheel bearings, wishbones, swaybars] and brakes [968 Clubsport, and later 993 Turbo brakes], as well as the interior and exterior.
The RS2's ADU engine made 410nm @ 3000 rpm, the S2's ABY engine made 350nm @ 1950 rpm.

maybe- The only real problem I have with the RS4 and RS2 for that matter- is that they suffer a problem that inhabits all modern German cars- they just don't have any Character :(
