ok so i just fell into a little bit of money and wanted to upgrade my sound system in my 98 civic ex coupe. I was thinking about going kicker all the way with component 65.2 for the front and the 693's in the rear with two 12 L5 Solobaric's. i dont know what kind of amp to get but im assuming ill need more than oneto run all this. the speakers are all about 75w rms and the subs are 600w rms. Let me know what you guys think

kicker components arent all that great..i bought a set of 6.5s and took um back in a week....there about sony xplode quality.....as for soloberics....for what you spend on those things you could get something wayyyyyyy better....2 ad exterminator 10s would blows the solos away easy or 2 RE HCs or 1 RE xxx

15L7 for $239. 2 of them would cost about the same as a single 15" RE XXX, but the Kicker would be louder. maybe you can find better on SQ, but for SPL, :)

2 soloberics louder than 1 RE xxx.....maybe.but only 15s..

if you wanted you could get 2 audiobahn flame q 12s for $132 a piece.....if you wanted......

2 AD/Digital design 12s for $189 a piece.....i can get the RE XXXs for 400 a piece and the SEs for 180 shipped.....

i'm trying to keep you away from kicker....go with something not as mainstream.....plus kickers sound funny IMO....and you gotta break um in....i guarantee if you went with AD/DD youd be happier with the sound

i could set you up with the guy to get the AD subs if you wanted them and he would match amp/s to them if you needed him too

Get help. Kicker subs are good for being mainstream.
Go componets are not very good and i would suggest either viper or infinty componets for the fronts and rears. The subs depend on how much power and space and what type of encloser you are going with. For a sub amp, if you wanna stay kciker, go with the kicker 1000, my friend had one, or go with a crossfire 1000d.

PS You are supposed to break in any sub, not just kickers. How can you get REs for 180 shipped? They reatil for $239 and the cheapest i can get them is thourgh a good friend of the owner for $250 for two 12 RE SEs and an re XXX is close to 600

break-in isn't required. u can blast them as soon as you get them.

i can get a 15" SE for $140 shipped if anyone wants one:p i can also get a 15" XXX for $400. a DD9515 for $400 shipped, etc. i can basically get anything except JL's, brax/helix, and those $154564+ brand.

With the warrenty? A member of my audio teamknows the owner of Re and got a team a hookup for 6 15 ses for a grand, and i think that is just above cost for them make them. Ever talk to a audio company about speakers and hear them say "Ya, we will start building the speakers tomorrow" it's great. Yes, i do read specs but ever see a speaker freeze when somebody was putting 4000 watts unbroken in into a speaker? I will stick to breaking mine in. I think the voice coil smell is addiciting:D

termpro was a great forum (notice "was") i use to go there a lot, but then i stopped. you either talk about DD subs or you get flamed. although there are some people i respect there. instead of posting questions on forums now, i just hit up mansville smith, dan wiggins, etc.. their replies are more unbiased which is what i like.:D

termpro doesn't answer my technical questions. :(
