Sudden loss of power

1996 Seville 4.6 Norhstar. Ran flawless until startup one morning falls flat on its face. Smokes. Will go if I feather pedal. Hard to start also. Check emissions is flashing. Thnx

Yep. Head gasket failed. This is a problem on Northstar aluminum block and heads. Enough for Cad to prepare a kit with head gaskets and helicoils to insert into block. Seems the steel head bolts stretch the threads in the block to help gasket failure. I was lucky to have a very compitant shop to repair for $2200.00. Removal of motor and frame is nessasary. Oh well!

Damn sounded like a lot. Im suprised it costed that much. Im sure labor killed you though.

I have an 87 Brougham that has developed a lack of power, any ideas. Timing,spark, fuel filter, all okay.
