:sun:
I have a feeling that it will be comparable to the McLaren F1 in the 0-60 area but i dont know about its top end. It will probably be able to pull a few more mph that the McLaren F1. Remember that the McLaren was made in the early 90's it took them almost 10 years to catch up.

dont get your hopes up kid the tvr has 800bhp and it wais the same as the 300 bhp ones so that means it is super fast infact so fast that tvr sais it is too dangarous so it has been baned from the road. and if you want to know it does 0-60 in 2.9 seconds witch is faster than the mclaren f1 and a max speed of over 240mph witch is better than the maclarens 200 mph

I think it will be close with the F1 from 0-60 and pull hard in the 230mph on top end

maybe someone could make a 3d program that calculates wind resistance and weight to BHP ratio to work this out.... those are the programs car companies have that cost millions dont they? Dam...

Scott 02
01-29-2003, 07:31 AM
Yeah..it would cost millions to do. Intresting to hear mor about it.

I think they should bring it out just once to race against all the best cars on top gear, in an elimination round, so if you defeat Murcielago, oyu take on Zonda, then XJ220, then Mclaren f1, then Veyron.

Scott 02
01-31-2003, 02:21 PM
Are you saying that the Veyron is the most competition out of the cars you listed?

jsb88
01-31-2003, 03:03 PM
Well, with a claimed top speed of 252mph, and very quick acceleration, it should be the highest competitor in a 4 mile run.

Top Gear should just do it like they did the Zonda/Murcielago. Straightline and track with the Speed 12/Veyron.

jsb88

I think distance would be the key in that race. The TVR would pull ahead on 1-2 miles, but over that the Bugatti would edge onto the lead with a higher top end speed.

actuly the tvr is just a little bit slower than the maclaren

farbod
03-27-2003, 11:01 AM
sorry but i dont think top gear would dare race the buggati it costs way to much they would be too scared to damadge it after all it does cost 750,000 pounds.and another thing is i have heared that the buggati handles hoplessly but i think the stig can handle it

jsb88
03-27-2003, 10:27 PM
The TVR slower than a Mclaren? with streamlined body and 1000hp?

IIRC, that Mercedes was one of the last that attempted the land speed record on the Autoban, just before it was determined that they probably shouldn't do that since a lot of cars were being blown off the road, killing the drivers...

I wouldn't doubt that many of the manufacturers would accually go for something like a battle royale bewteen all the supercar makers: If each truly believes that their machine is the best then it would be in their best interest to compete - if they won, the profits would surely reflect.

It would be sorta llike the constructors wars in FIA racing...

i've heard rumours on the grapevine that TVR are planning to keep the original Speed 12 engine and put it in a modified Tuscan shell. I dont know how true that is, but it would be really good if it was! But, like the Speed 12 it probably wouldnt make it into production anyway. :shakehead

Where did you get this information? From what I have heard, it's 0-60 in 3.5, oh, and the McLaren does 240 mph, not 200.

farbod
09-06-2003, 02:15 PM
well for your information i was talking about the mercedes mclaren slr which goes 200mph
if you look above you will see that it correctly states that the mclaren f1 goes 240 mph
and as for the 0-60 i am not sure

That merc looks smooth...did you say it got to 256mph, or thereabouts? Im thinking of upgrading my Punto to a Cerbera, you know about TVRs, would you recommend it?

farbod
09-15-2003, 10:20 AM
the merc is 256 exact
and as for the tvryou could'nt have come to a better person i have een driving a tvr griffith for 3 and a half years and what do i have i got to say about it it is the best car i have drivent it is quick the interior is speechless and that sound is just amazin
did you say tuscan can i ask the tuscan s or tuscan r because i sold my griffith and i was looking rouan for a good deal on the tuscan s

Spagnet
09-16-2003, 11:07 AM
Im after a Cerbera, but a Tuscan R sounds nice...maybe a bit too expensive for me though :frown: i know theyre fast and they do sound great, but its reliability im worried about. my uncle had a chimeara and it was back in blackpool every other week cuz of technical problems. i would have asked him, but hes so pissed of with tvrs he would never say a good thing about them!

farbod
09-16-2003, 11:58 AM
ive never heard of a problem with the tuscan r

Spagnet

No ive never heard of any problems with the Tuscan R either but theyre just too expensive, id rather have a second hand cerbera 4.5. not for performance, just for the price.

No ive never heard of any problems with the Tuscan R either but theyre just too expensive, id rather have a second hand cerbera 4.5. not for performance, just for the price.Th eTuscan R was a concept car that never wen't into production, instead we got the T400r and the T440R, both have been described as phenominal performers, however both have been described as not being for the fain hearted as well and dangerous in the wet. Hell the T440R even scred Martin Blundell.

Its a shame the speed 12 never made it.

Now that TVR is back in production maybe we will get a new supercar

dude this thread is 2yrs old...look at the dates

and doubtful for anothe rsupercar. they are more into wanting to secure the brand as a sucess. the new president would also like to c the company exporting cars back into the USA, a place(imo) that needs a back to basics thrill ride of a car
