Escape-good performance platform?

I'm asking this just out of curiousity. I don't even have an Escape, my mother & grandmother do.
Anyways, just wondering, is it possible to make these things fast. I've driven their's several times, & it had some decent power. Well, ya know...at least compared to what I have.
Can it be turboed? Nitrous injection? Solid drivetrain on these things? How about supercharging, boring, port n' polish, etc...
It'd be cool to print this out & show it to them..."see, you could make that mofo fast ma!"
By the way, it's a XLS.
Oh, sorry for wasting bandwidth...

just don't bother the Escape was not built for performance- and the mechancicals are weak- in fact the Escape has very little purpose- not a very good car at all.

BTW- not all of us are in all forums all the time- just be patient

the escape engine and driveline is not weak at all. and last i heard there was a super chager out there for it. i think kenith bell had produced one. not sure if it was ever released or not but it is worth a shot to check it out.

I beg to differ. The 3.0L duratec engine is a very good engine to start with. A guy down in texas is putting out 1200 hp on his 3.0L on stock block and crank. Ill be putting out about 450+ hp on my 3.0L turbo in my contour. The weak point may be the CD4E transmission but the engine is nothing to complain about.

TRY the new Mazda6 Sport or Grand Touring with V-6 and manual trans...same chassis as the Escape and made by Ford at the same plant. Mo---power too--220HP instead of 200....You cannot get a manual on the Escape V6 while you can on the Mazda6 with V6. Cost less too and weighs less. Much beta...if U into show and go. They got wings and spoilers to match as well as lo-pro wheels and tires.

Oh yeah...maybe mom and grandma don't wanna go fast lika U do.
