917 vs. 787

Okay, two le mans champs...the dominating 917 from porsche, or the one-time-winner, Mazda 787.

The 917 was one of the best race cars in the world if not the best. That it came in 1 2 3 a lot of times.

I actualy like both. The 917 is awesome when you look how many times it won in LeMans and the the 787 is perfectly engineered, damn it's a wankel engine the first and only ever won LeMans!

I think the 917 is way better, didn't it have over 1000 hp? See name for more details.

The last 917 the 917/30 has 1560hp at full boost pressure is it not something when you have that 5.4L flat 12 right behind you. :)

IMO I'm sick of that HP comparison! HP aren't everything a good car needs. Important is the whole car. I realy like the 917, I'm anyway a big Porsche enthusiast but I also have to agree that the 787 was a master-piece of engineering!

I wasn't coparing it to the 787 I was only wondering what the horsepower was. It's not everyday you hear about a car with 1500 Horsepower!
