Anoying exhaust noise

My D16A9 has made the most anoying noise since I have had it I am just posting this to see if its my exhaust system or if anyone else has the same problem
at about 2000 - 3000 revs it makes a noise like its blowing at the manifold and it sounds really tinny, I had the standard exhaust on it when I bought it and sounded the same and when I changed the back box it still does it.
I have checked all of the joins and none of them are blowing on tick over,
is this common on civics and if you can, how can you stop it

the only annoying noise i can think off for exhausts would be the exhaust manifold heat shield or catalytic converter heat shield rattle. that is very annoying.
other than that, all i can think of is an exhaust leak. Maybe your exhaust manifold gasket or donut gasket is bad. the engine will make a "ticking" noise and the engine compartment might smell like emissions a little bit more.
sorry im not much help

I think I know what you're talking about. My car had a similar sound. Kind of like noise is resonating throught a tin can. Want to know how I fixed it? Get a louder muffler. :D
Seriously though, I'm not sure why it does it.

look underneath it and tap on the heat shields around the converter and the b pipe (pipe behind the converter)...sounds like one of them has rusted loose somewhere...hope this helps...
