fog light installation

Hello, I am looking to install a set of aftermarket driving lights (round style, either hella or PIAA) on the brush guard of my 2002 sliverado. I had heard from the dealer that there was some special care that needed to be done in order to run the lights because of the charging system of the silverados.

Does anyone have any experience with installing these lights on the newer silverados? Or is there someplace else on the web I can go to get some instruction? Also, I have the stock flood lights on the truck now and wanted to know where a good place is to mount the switch for the lights and if it is possible to get an oem switch from the dealer for the lights?
