All you have to do is go to the track, pay the fee, possibly take their 'orientation' ride, register, get in line and make some passes.

yea, i don't know how the tracks are around you but around here we have test and tune nights. On friday nights the track is open to all street legal cars. You come and pay 18bucks and race. It's bracket format though. But you can win some money and a trophy. It's pretty fun. You don't need a special license or anything like that. But when you start getting faster, i believe in the 9sec range then you need to get a license.

Wow, hes crazy, and must have never raced before. In my area, you buy a car, you drive to the track on wednesday night, pay to get in, pay an extra $10 to race, they put a bracelet on your arm, and you get in line.. and race until they close :)

I miss tampa, but Japan is way better. Over here we just race from anywhere to where ever. no green light no finish line dont have to pay for it either. Sad thing though.....nobody hands out E.T.s

For an NHRA track you need a valid state drivers licence, and must be able to pass tech inspetion. Battery holddown, radiator overflow, working taillight for night time racing, seatbelts etc.

At the end of the day make a trip down to the drag strip that is close to you on a night/day they are running street cars. I bet if you asked around with the organizers or anyone working there you will be told where to get the information you need or whom to speak to.
