R33 Transmission into an R32

Hi, I have an R33 GTS that was recently wrecked. My friend has an R32 GTS-T that's an automatic trannie. Can you put the R33 manual trans into the R32? I am pretty sure it would work with no problems but i wanna be sure.

You certainly can! As a matter of fact it is a perfect upgrade due to the strength of the R33 manual box and the weakness of the R32 manual and autoboxes.

You will need to modify the drive shaft to fit. The front yoke on the R32 is smaller and different. I would modify the R33 one to fit using his orginal R32 shaft as the donor.

There should be a provision already for the slave cylinder and peddle box in the R32. Not sure on the clutch though as it may be the same but it is best to purchase a new one anyways. See if you can get a 5 puck Kevlar/Ceramic paddle clutch. I had one in my R32 GTS-t and it is a brillaint clutch. make sure the clamp pressure is at the very least 1,800 lb clamp perferably 2,100 though. It is not a true on off clutch but has a great amount of bite and not abusive to your flywheel.

Thanks a lot. I figured it would work pretty easily. My car was wrecked recently and I have to junk it. I decided to sell off the parts and sell my friend the trans since he wanted a manual anyway. I figure i could sell a lot of the parts for pretty good especially on ebay. Just the tail lights should sell pretty well. Thanks a lot though, i'll tell him asap.
