I just painted the body on my subaru tonight and it has some orange peel, i was wondering whether i should use tamiya compound or wetsand it, and wont both methods take off too much paint on all the sharp corners?
-Thanks

Just don't sand sharp corners.
You can get away with just the compound if the OP is not too bad. If it is - sand it down lightly. If you mess something up, you'll just respray the thing :)

What grit do you guys use when sanding in between coats?
And do you guys clear coat before compounding and polishing?

I recently purchased a "surface restoral kit". It contains grid from 2400 till 8000 and has some creamy polish to finish things off. when I get some orange peel, I send it down running through all the gradients it has. 2400, 3200, 3600, 4000, 6000, 8000.
When I'm lucky enough, not have sanded through any corners, I will do the clear coating. After a couple of layers I'll carefully repeat the sanding process on the clear coat and finish off with the polish.
When I did sand through some corners (80% of the cases) I will only add a little more paint in some fine layers on the affected areas. Then on goes the clear coat with same process as above.
Cheers,
Guido
