Hmmm not a bad effort.
Unforunatly you turned it from and SiR into a 25x :finger: :finger:
From one of the fastest hondas ever made, to one of the slowest, well done.
The SiR should have a red pin stripe, and mine is a dark pearl green, not black.
If you want to know what it looks like clean there are pics of it outside the Mussem at the bottom of my geoshitties page.
The link is in my sig.

Nah, see, Pman... your age skews your view of "Fast". What seems fast becomes inversely proportionate to your age. You see, the older you get, the lower the speeds are that seem "fast" ;)
Not to mention that it's amazing how much faster a manual can be versus an auto. :evillaugh

Muhahahahahahahaah!!!
Ok this thread was orginaly in the graphic manipulation forum, how it made it here I have no idea, but it dosnt matter. It just adds to the entertainment. :D
Kris Think of all the differnt Honda's ever made. All of them, from the early 60s to the present day. Include all the differnt models sold in Japan, and Europe and the rest of Asia, as well as the cars sold in North America.
The list would cover well over 100 differnt models. Maybe even twice that number.
Now how many are faster than my Civic:
NSX
S2000
Type R Civic (old and new shape)
Type R Integra (old and new shape)
EF CRX SiR
and thats about it.
There are few car with the same level or performance:
Type S prelude, Integra SiR/GSR, EG and EK SiR Civic, possibly the Type R Accord.
All but one car in that list came after my car.
For the more uninformed members that should give you some idea of how unique my car is, In 1990 it was the 2nd fastest Honda in production (the NSX is 91 production year, and the SiR CRX is faster) and also the 2nd fastest FWD car avliable in Japan, and possibly Europe. (Im sure there were some V8 cadies and Turbo Cryslers in the US that were faster in a straight line, but certianly not around corners).
So yes it is one of the fastest Honda's ever made.

Well, "One of the fastest" means next to nothing. See, there are 56,265 AF members as of this post. I'd venture to say I'm cooler than at least two of them (4ndrms and a007apl), so I'm amongst the 56,263 coolest members.
Look, I'm one of the coolest AF members!! Yayyy for meee!!
"One of the (insert adjective here)est (insert noun here)" means next to nothing.

Sir Moppie just a reminder that the Silvia club is having a drag day down at Meremere Sunday Jan 5th.
I am sure you will live up to your performance by giving us a show with some runs down the strip. I will be there even if I go though a tonne of power steer fluid hahaha I hope I have sorted that out.
Maybe I can talk big phil into letting me give you a rip down the strip also as a passenger in the GTR.

Moppie I know what you mean. The top of my head comes up to like his chest! He is a tall bugger for sure but a really nice guy. That is a good thing when you think about it ahahahahaha
So when you come down Sir Cappiton we'll have to line one once. Of course I will be in 2wd just to make things a bit fairer. Also I am sure we can arrange a head start. Your car should do high 14's if it is a quick as you say it is. That is about what the GTS-t's are running with a big bore and pod.

The problem won't be the car, but me.
There are guys in the UK running them with 10 less hp and getting low 15s high 14s, and the guys in the states with engine swaps are getting similar times.
However I have never tried launching it really hard, and from talking to guys who have dragged them its very easy to get it wrong and go up in smoke, or just bog down.
Ill be happy with a high 15 or low 16, depending on how many runs I get.
The factory time for the UK spec cars is a nice 15.2sec. (which is about the same as all the stock GTS-t times Iv seen :) )
Ill PM you my ph number, give me a ring before the sunday and we can arrange a time to meet at say the BP just past Takanini?

Done meet there @ 9:30amish at the McDonnalds in the shops by the BP. Should be a good day now lets hope for good weather also.
Not sure what my old tart will do but should be in the mid 12's given what i have seen others do with simular power. Maybe if I am lucky and the track can hold traction a very low 12.

Incase anyone in Auckland or Hamilton would like to come to Meremere to see Moppie's car go and mine the gates open at 10am. Racing should be going until around 3pm or so.
From what I hear the track is in great condition (that's a first) and if the rain holds off there should be some quick cars down there.

Well I must say it was a great day down there. In all fairness to Moppie his car goes very well for what it is. With a best time of 15.8 his times were on par with stock GTS-t's and quite a few GTS25t's! That little civic has got a bit of grunt for little trolly :) Well done Moppie.
Ok for those that are wondering I only mannaged a 12.8. Even when the track finally came around to decent from greasy I was still spinning all 4 wheels and quite a few times came off the line crossed up! Damn these tyres on the car suxor! I will sort that out and be back down.
I did give Moppie a go. I also gave him a 3 secondish head start and passed him just after half track. On that run I did a 12.88 @ 171 kmh and he did a 16.2 . I should have given him a 4 second one and it would have been very close a the finish. Also gave him a ride down the strip and we launch at 6,800 rpm and again got a bit crossed up and smoked up all 4 wheels. ran a 13.21 @ 169 kmh so not the best but was fun.
I know there is quite a few on the boards that love the BMW M3 and there has been a few comparisons on the Skyline GTR vs BMW M3. Well there is not much to compare as there were two down there. One that was around a late 90's model and one that was brand new. Neither ran exceptional well. I think the newer one did a very low 14 possibly a flat 14.
All in all a great day and once I get a little more sorted will get Moppie back down there on a club day again and see if I can get him down the strip in a flat 12 to a high 11.
I have posted a couple of images in the "lets see your burnout" thread of me smoking it up for some entertainment as asked hehehe. I did get the best burnout of the day, so that was all good.

I have posted a couple of images in the "lets see your burnout" thread of me smoking it up for some entertainment as asked hehehe. I did get the best burnout of the day, so that was all good.

Vince the new M3 ran a best of 13.2 but it was the guy with the little red Civic who drove it.
And I was only launching at 4-5,000rpm. I should have been letting go at 6-7,000rpm (which is where the red civic was launching at) but I didnt want to go home on a trailer. :)
Anyway it was great day! Drag racing is not really my thing, its all over far to quickly.
Give me some fucken corners!!!
The Civic dosnt make a good drag car either. Below 5,000rpm there isnt really enough hp to go really fast, Its great on the street, just faster than regular traffic and gets great millage.
But above 5,000rpm it has to much hp. And gets to much wheel spin off the line. I didnt want to break anything, or destropy my tyres which launching at 6 plus would have (I like my tyres. :o ).
If there had been another car there in the same peformance bracket I might have pushed it once, but everything else there was either a lot faster, or a lot slower than my car. :(
I guess I could have gone another .5 sec faster maybe, if I got a luckey trye destroying run, and with my lack of drag experiance I know the car could go a bit faster again.
There was a red EG Civic there with a stripped interior and a B18c.
It weighed 100kgs less than my car, and had an extra 20hp. With semi slicks it did a best of 13.8
Driver skill has a lot to do with it.
The GTR was just fucking awsome for the first 2-3 seconds.
Then you just sit there and watch the secenry get faster and faster.
But the launch is pretty damn awsome.
It really does slam you back in the seat. :D :D :D
I have lots of pics (60+) Ill post a few of the good ones soon.
gota have dinner first. :)

Damn Moppie I gotta say I am prety impressed with those times- I was expecting low 16's- but your time definitley is better than anything I expected.
My best in the 156 was 15.1@163km/h- but with my next one I plan on entering the 13's :D

Thats the stock time for my car, and from what Iv seen from guys racing them in the UK its a conservative time. a 14.8 is the best time for a Stock SiR/VTi Iv seen.
But for my first time ever at a drag stip Im pretty damn happy with a high 15.
My next goal is to get some times for around Taupo, its much more my style. :ccol:
And 13s in an Alfa should be fun. :D :D

Ah ok moppie didn't think it got down that far. He was only the #4 or #5 qualifier. #3 was a 13.8 which was the Lotus Elise.
Sure wish I could have lined him up though. Would have made for a good race.
Speaking of launches once I get the T-1S's on the ol tart will launch a whole lot harder. I figure the tyres alone were costing me over .5 of a second with wheel spin.
I can't wait to for you to post that pic of me launching where the car is squatting like a real drag car. I actually got hooked up for a split second on that pass and if memory serves me right that was my 12.8 @ 175kmh pass.

It wasnt the cars owner who made the 13 sec pass, the owner couldn't break out of the 14s I think.
The guy who made the 13.2 had to go and drive the red Civic in the shoot out. :)
and pics are on the way, Iv just made them internet friendly, Ill email you the orginals as soon as Igor gets my Email working again.

You did well indeed- if it's your first time- and you have every right to be pleased :)
And I agree with you that track racing is better than drag-racing- especially in a car such as the 156 that rewards a good spanking.
As for the 13 second Alfa- It will be awesome fun- but not only that I plan to set it up so it will be an excellent track racer as well- give the Ferraris a scare :D However I plan on buying a second 156 to do it- my one I get from insurance will be my practical day to day- while a second one (A scruffy basemodel 1998 2.5 for 9000 Euros) will be made into the project car:D

Cool. You may want to zip them though.
Is there a way to post up that launch?

Nice car Moppie, cool stuffed animals in the rear window, just make sure someone dosen't take too long a glance at them that they go in an accident;). BTW, I like the front bumper, how the signal lights are!

I've got about 425 hp with 442 flbs of torque according to my dyno sheet. That would be at the flywheel.
