Just curious how many of you are musically inclined? Post up what you play, the equipment you use, etc.
I've been playing drums for a long time, self taught, and I think I'm decent at it. Have a TAMA kit and a Rodgers kit in my basement for the last year or so, the TAMA kit has Paiste cymbals (3 crash, 1 splash, 1 ride, and 14" hi hats) Both have double bass pedals... neither of them are mine. I used to have a nice Ludwig kit, but it got sold a while back.
I played Trumpet from when I was in 7th grade until my junior year in high-school.
I took piano lessons when I was younger (at the behest of my mom), but don't really remember too much of it. I can figure out chords and stuff, but not very well, I'm much better at programming synths like that instead of actually playing... I own an old analog Korg Poly 61, and a Yamaha W7 that I bought in HS. Also have an Alesis D4 drum machine which I control with the W7. Always planned on building a set of trigger pads for it, but since I've got some kits in my basement, I don't really need to.
I'm also self-taught on guitar, and that's what I've been playing most of lately... I have a Cruise Strat, a Digitech RP7 Valve effects pedal, a Roland Jazz/Chorus 60W amp. Hoping to get a nice Ibanez from a friend of mine who has no idea how to play it, and has never tried to learn
Recording equipment I use:
The only decent stuff I've got is a Yamaha MX-8R 8 channel mixer, very nice. Also have a crappy Pyramid DJ mixer that has ALOT of line noise. Also have 2 Shur mics...
Anyways, recently got a band together with some friends, I'm doing guitar (sometimes lead, sometimes backup) and lead vocals... so far we've got about 5 songs almost completed, and hoping to get into a studio to lay some tracks. Not really expecting anything to come of it, just having fun. May end up playing some live gigs, but who knows.

Ahh, music. My favorite thing in the world.(dont tell my car i said that)
I play guitar, bass guitar and piano. I CAN play drums just not well. Only well enough to fill in if need be. I sing also...I'm a baritone.
I have an epiphone electric guitar, an alvarez acoustic/electric which is what i use for my live endeavors(every wednesday) and an art&lutherie acoustic which is by far my favorite. Then I've got an alvarez bass and a danelectro bass, don't have any recording stuff at home, but have a little bit at the church where my band plays. Oh I have a Conn upright piano too. I was going to major is music, but at the school I'm attending music students have to go 5 days a week, which I can't do with my full time job. I got an invitation to go to Berkley College of Music in boston, but I can't afford that. :( Anyhow, I'm done now. :D

Cool...I've been wanting to take up another stringed instrument like violin perhaps, as soon as I get my piano skills back up to snuff.

I have 3 guitars I can't play, a Kramer electric strat and 2 antique Sears classicals.
I also have a Roland full-size keyboard, with full piano action which is circa late 70's or early eighties. It weighs around 200-300 lbs.
I play a bit of piano, mostly Ben Folds Five and Smashing Pumpkins. I have about 3-4 songs I can play all the way through, and 20-30 I can play bits and pieces of.

I play CDs regularly. That is all. I'm about as musically talented as the average door knob. Rock on, Jimmie...

I played flute from 4th grade to 9th grade. I quit Band in 8th grade due to a HORRIBLE b@stage of a director who made me learn to hate music.
I played clarinet from 8th to 9th grade. I quit because I decided I sucked at it and I didn't want to waste my time with anything that wouldn't lead to any sort of future.
I wish I could play either piano or guitar. I understand the keys of the piano, but the whole chord thing kinda puts me off. My fingers are too weak from being double jointed to play guitar. My brother tried to teach me once. It was more than frustrating for both of us.
I sing. My talent lies therein. I can actually read words and music simultaneously, which isn't as common among singers as one might think. I can also harmonize on 3rds and 5ths in mid-song just out of the blue. I just hear it and can produce it. I love singing (if you can't tell). I have sung until I lost my voice while travelling in the car. It's bad. I'll quit now before I ramble on any further.

This is most of the reason I can't play guitar. I simply do not have the strength to fret more than 1 string with each finger.

I play lead guitar. I've played with several different groups through the years. The high note being a brief stint with Jhelom, a band that put out two CDs on jetspeed records.
I also can play (semi decently) bass, keyboard, drums, most reed instrments, trombone, banjo, and harmonica.
I have a 1997 Stratocaster, sunburst finish and an Alverez acoustic

Cool, looks like alot of people are musicians here.
Got an Ibanez electric guitar from my friend on monday! It's pretty damn nice. Had to buy all new strings for it, settled on some flat-wound 9/51 strings for it... Flat wound roxors!
Only thing is, the guitar is a floating-bridge style with locking-nut detune prevention, so it is a BITCH to intonate! I've spent a few hours already trying to get it right, but every time you adjust one string, due to the floating bridge, it causes the other 5 strings to detune.
I really wish I had an acoustic too... maybe I can steal my moms from here :D
