What would be a n educated guess as far as HP, Torque and quarter mile times for a 1982 Monte Carlo with a 350 (I dunno where it came from), 4 barrel carb, alum. intake, headers, dual exhaust, 350 turbo tranny, shift kit and a 2800 stall? Any guestimates would be appreciated.

Interesting... Im always the one to answer you... Why is that? I cant be the only one who knows about the TreePitty.... Am I?
A few questions...
Heads are they stock?
How big of a carb?
What brand intake? What type? Dual plane or Single?
What size/brand of headers?
Stock Cam?
What kind of rear gear is it turning? 2800rpm Stall says to me fairly low gearing but I could be wrong.
Is it Posi?
a STOCK bare bones no thrills 350, 250hp 300tq
Stock 250hp 300tq
4bbl +-10hp +-10tq
Intake +-20hp +-20tq
Headers +-20hp +-20tq
Little Ricer Math = 300hp 350tq < This is compeletly hypothetical but very possible, a 350 responds WELL to minor modifications.
If you upgrade to 2.02"/1.60" heads. You can gain an easy 40hp or 50hp. You can pick them up for less than $900 for a set.
Anywho, a 82 Monte... i'll assume its at about 3200-3300lbs. With our hypothetical Motor and its power... I'd safely bet it would be a mid 14 second car.

Yeah, a Monte Carlo weighs about 3300 lbs, and around 300hp sounds right. Assuming you can get enough airflow to support that kind of power, then it just comes down to cam and ignition timing.
I still say you'd be better off with fuel injection, for Ontario winters.

Yeah i noticed that too redneck, I feel so unwelcome at this forum ;) I thank you for putting up with my constant flow of juvenile questions as well. Cbass I'd like a fuel injected car but I can't afford the E-tests and Insurance on most quick fuel injected cars. The only thing I have found in 3 months of searching was a T-type but by the time my Insurance guy got me a quote (3 days later:mad: ) it was sold.

Its no Problem man, I like the periodic questions in my 'field'.
A cam would be a wise upgrade...

This little fella is 50 state smog legal, and would boost your horsepower and torque up. Its opperating range is 1200rpm-4500rpm Which makes it very streetable and economical. Plus its only $104.95. Thats cheap horsepower!
Now, if you want more power... a little more hotrod-ish cam.
http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?action=prod_detail&catid=1993&pid=29905
This guy is a tad bit radical, 2000rpm-5000rpm range. Still very streetable. And still only $104.95. Thats cheap horsepower! haha.
Comp Cams, gotta love them. I use them.

This lil fella is only $81.95! Its whats called a RV cam, has a operational range of 1200rpm to 5200rpm. Makes great mid range torque and gets good milege. Once again.. its Cheap Horsepower!
